In a battle of Betty White versus a census taker, the census taker is never going to stand a chance.
In fact, Betty White seems like she could even become a census taker herself.
During a skit for “Saturday Night Live” from 2010, Tina Fey played a census taker that goes to knock on Betty White’s door. White is just playing a hilarious and witty older lady living in 15A. It’s likely the hardest experience a census taker has ever had trying to collect responses.
Tina Fey introduces herself and says, “Hello, I’m a census taker with the U.S. census bureau.” White’s character says, “Oh, terrific, good for you, bye” and goes to shut the door on her.
Eventually, they get to the census part of the conversation and White can’t seem to have a normal answer to anything. She asks if she needs a calculator because the batteries for hers were taken out to put in her “crotch massager.”
She even gives an elaborate last name and then when asked to spell it simply says, “S-M-I-T-H.” At the end of all the chaotic census taking, a homeless man emerges in a fur coat, which White thought was her cat all along.
Betty White was quite the popular host for “SNL.” In fact, she was the oldest person to ever host the popular comedic program. A petition was even started on Facebook called “Betty White to Host SNL (Please?)!” Rachel Dratch, Tina Fey, Ana Gasteyer, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, and Molly Shannon all appeared in the episode.
The episode gave “SNL” its highest ratings of that year. It also had over 12 million viewers.
Betty White Wants Summertime
Betty White has had an extremely active career since the 1930s. The Hollywood icon is beyond adored by her fans and the industry.
Similar to many others, White had to take a break from the entertainment industry due to COVID-19. While she may not be on “SNL” or making movies like “You Again,” “The Golden Girls” actress is staying busy inside to ensure she stays safe.
According to a TMZ report, White is looking forward to summer and warm weather. It will allow her to get out more and feel a greater sense of freedom. The country is slowly starting to open up and lower restrictions again, so White may get to go out more soon.
Before that can happen, she keeps busy by doing crossword puzzles, reading, and watching TV. She hasn’t been able to really see people face-to-face but instead has had to rely on phone calls and other means of communication.
While the cabin fever may be hitting her hard at the moment, the 99-year-old actress should be able to get back to normal soon enough.
