From the looks of it, “Big Sky” is making big splashes ahead of its season two premiere date on September 30.
Fans will get to see more of the spooky, deadly, and all-around cutthroat small town in Montana. The show will once again follow along with ex-rivals that turned into private investigator partners and possibly even friends.
Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) have gone through the ringer trying to put an end to the crime near them. For example, Jenny Hoyt had her husband murdered, her ex-boyfriend murdered, and was shot all in one season of “Big Sky.”
Returning with them for season two is evil dream-team-coupling, Ronald (Brian Geraghty) and Scarlet (Anja Savcic). Omar Metwally, who plays U.S. Marshal Mark Lindor, has also been confirmed as a series regular for season two. Dedee Pfeiffer, the receptionist for Dewell & Hoyt agency, is also coming back. Jesse James Keitel is returning as Jerrie as well.
“Big Sky” is also recruiting some all-new faces for what seems like an intriguing and dark new storyline based on the series of books by C.J. Box. The first cast member revealed was Janina Gavankar as Ren. Now, fans just learned that Logan Marshall-Green would be a new series regular as well.
Logan Marshall-Green on ‘Big Sky’
You may recognize Logan Marshall-Green for his role in “How It Ends,” “The Invitation,” “Upgrade,” “Devil,” and “Prometheus.” He is currently also shooting Anna Foerster’s Netflix feature called “Lou.” He is starring alongside Allison Janney and Jurnee Smollett for the movie produced by J.J. Abrams.
Season two of “Big Sky” is following a new case full of more mystery and deceit. Last season, fans watched as the Kleinsasser family quite literally killed each other off. None of the actors that were a part of that storyline are returning this season.
Now, Jenny and Cassie investigate a car wreck that has happened right outside of town. In the meantime, they meet a group of teens, an outsider looking for answers regarding a betrayal, and an old face from Jenny’s past with a flirtatious edge.
Fans will be thrilled to know that Marshall-Green is that flirtatious face in question. He will play Travis, an old friend of the family. According to Deadline, Travis works undercover to help stop a local drug ring. In the process, that line between his fictional world as Stone and his real identity is blurring.
Apparently, the two will attempt to keep things professional, however, there’s a lot of unresolved feelings that need to come out to play.
Marshall-Green has also dabbled in directing. He made his debut with “Adopt A Highway” in 2019, starring Ethan Hawke. He’s had a few TV roles as well, including parts in “The Defeated” and “When They See Us.”
