Earlier this fall, it was announced that NBC’s streaming channel, Peacock, was picking up the newest drama series from Big Sky producer, David E. Kelly.

Now, the upcoming eight-episode crime-drama series which is titled The Missing is coming closer to fruition.

Showrunners for the brand-new crime thriller have just announced that actor Jeff Wilbusch is set to lead the cast of The Missing.

Prior to taking on this project, Jeff Wilbusch recently portrayed a lawyer named Danny in the Netflix limited series titled Breathe.

Wilbusch also portrays the love interest of the series’s main character in the upcoming limited series.

The Missing’s newest lead also starred previously alongside Ruth Wilson in the HBO project Olso.

Big Sky producer, David E. Kelley teamed up with both Universal Television and Keshet Studios for the upcoming Peacock channel project.

In the upcoming series, Wilbusch will portray NYPD’s seventy-seventh precinct detective Avraham Avraham.

‘Big Sky’ Producer Delves Into Spiritual Drama

David E. Kelley, the mind behind many of our favorite crime dramas including the 2020 breakout hit, Big Sky, developed the upcoming series.

The new series tells the story of Detective Avraham (Wilbusch). Avraham solves crimes by tapping into his intense connection to his religious principles and deeply devout spirituality. His belief in mankind pushes him as he searches to dig for deeper truths while solving crimes.

However, The Missing’s detective Avraham begins to question his own humanity as one case evolves. An investigation that begins in a seemingly routine manner turns things around in ways he never could have imagined.

“I was riveted by Dror’s novels and the character of Avraham Avraham,” said David E. Kelley of what inspired him to turn the novel into the eight-part series.

“[I] jumped at the opportunity to bring both to life,” the Big Little Lies producer adds.

The longtime writer and producer is also the great mind behind some of the biggest dramas on television. Some of these dramas include the intriguing HBO mini-series Nine Perfect Strangers and Big Little Lies.

Additionally, Kelley is also the genius behind some of the biggest primetime shows such as Ally McBeal, The Practice and the latest ABC hit, Big Sky.

“We are incredibly fortunate to bring this series to Peacock audiences led by iconic producer David E. Kelley, who has shepherded some of today’s most buzzworthy dramas,” says Lisa Katz who serves as president of NBCUniversal Television and Streaming’s scripted content shared. “We’re looking forward to partnering with Keshet Studios alongside Universal Television to bring this compelling, soulful mystery to life.”
