“Big Sky” star Katheryn Winnick is living her best life. The actor posted an absolutely stunning snap of herself soaking up the sun on the scenic beaches of Portugal. Rather than lounging on a beach blanket, Winnick took to the beaches on horseback.

Winnick is certainly having an adventure for sure. The actor appears to be enjoying her trip to Portugal so far and is vacationing in style.

On Instagram, Winnick wrote: “Portugal, you are beautiful.”

Of course, “Big Sky” fans are wondering when Winnick will begin filming Season Two. Or if she will begin filming another season that is. The show ended its inaugural season with quite the cliffhanger for sure. Winnick’s Jenny got shot while trying to apprehend Ronald. And in the final moments of the episode, she lay bleeding out while her partner Cassie takes off after him.

“Big Sky” has been full of surprises since the first episode. Ryan Phillippe appeared to be a big part of the series in the pilot. But his character ended up biting the dust before the credits. Could the show be pulling a similar stunt with Winnick’s character? It would certainly add dramatic weight to a second season. But for many fans, it’s hard to imagine the show working without Winnick among the cast.

‘Big Sky’ Star Loves Adventure

Or maybe Katheryn Winnick might want out of the show. Previously, she discussed the long hurdles the program had to overcome in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Winnick spent nine months in Canada, starting last August filming the show. It’s quite the time commitment for the actor, and she may not want to repeat it a second time.

But Winnick revealed that her family often came up to visit her. For instance, she went on a long and grueling hike with her brother to have a little adventure.

“My brother, who is an Afghanistan veteran, took us on this hike. I couldn’t believe it; it’s not even a hike. It was the middle of nowhere, off the beaten path up in Grouse Mountain,” she said.

Her brother was an ex-paratrooper so he was used to roughing it a bit. Winnick and her family ended up hiking up North Shore Mountain, which has a peak of 1,200 feet. Fortunately, everyone ended up making it there in one piece.

“We ended up going up this three and a half, four-hour hike with, I’m not kidding, bears around. Death-defying, literally, I was on the edge of my seat, and I’m like, literally going to kill him,” she said. “But we made it through, had some trail mix, and had a glass of wine, and I definitely feel much better to be home.”
