Billy Ray Cyrus is very proud of his daughter, Miley Cyrus, and he wants the whole world to know it.
The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer tweeted words of kindness and support to his daughter on Friday as her new album drops next month.
So proud of you @mileycyrus and moved by your post,” the elder Cyrus tweeted. “Music is the soul of the universe and gives new life to everything.”
The country singer ends the tweet promoting Miley’s newest album offering “Plastic Hearts.”
“Can’t wait for the word to hear #plastichearts,” he concludes. In the tweet, he notes the album will be available on November 27.
Cyrus Pens Emotional Letter
The country singer was referring to a recent tweet from Miley in which she talks about hardships she has faced while creating here music. Against a black canvas, Cyrus pens a heartfelt statement explaining how she was feeling about her journey.
“Just when I thought the body of work was finished it was all erased,” Miley Cyrus writes. “Including much of the music’s relevance. Everything had changed.”
Cyrus lost her home to a California wildfire in 2018. According to Rolling Stone, Cyrus and then partner Liam Hemsworth were among hundreds of Southern California residents who lost their homes in the Woolsey fire.
“Completely devastated by the fire affecting my community,” she wrote. “I am one of the lucky ones. My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely ad that’s all that matters right now. My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family and friends stand strong.”
Cyrus now says the fire that claimed her home has given her inspiration to find meaning in her music.
“Nature did what I now I see as a favor and destroyed what I couldn’t let go of for myself,” she says. “I lost my house in a fire but I found myself in its ashes.”
