Billy Ray Cyrus reached out on Twitter to wish First Lady Melania Trump well after her COVID-19 diagnosis. But his daughter Miley Cyrus has wasted no time in declaring her support for the Biden camp.
“Hope you are feeling better @FLOTUS,” Billy Ray tweeted. “This photo was almost exactly a year ago. Thank you again for the compassion and time you shared with Channing’s Dad and his bother. #BeBest #SuicidePrevention.”
The replies to Billy Ray’s tweet were full of liberal outrage. One user tweeted, “Miley called it ‘mother’s daughter’ for a reason,” and another replied, “This is why Miley is the superior Cyrus.”
Twitter user Ashely tweeted an image of Marge Simpson hiding her face and tagged Billy Ray’s daughter. “This be @MileyCyrus right now,” she tweeted.
Many Twitter users urged Miley to come get her dad. A few made cracks about nursing homes.
Billy Ray made a point of thanking the First Lady last year after she met with him and the family of a cyberbullying victim at the White House.
The country music singer had also performed at the funeral of Tennessee teen Channing Smith, who committed suicide after classmates shared explicit messages he had traded with another boy on social media, The Hill reported.
The First Lady has campaigned against cyberbullying as part of her “Be Best” efforts.
Meanwhile, Miley is openly rooting for the Trumps to get booted from the White House. On Thursday, she tweeted her love for Biden vice presidential pick Kamala Harris. “I LOVE U SO MUCH @KamalaHarris,” Miley posted. “@JoeBiden X HARRIS FOREVER”
Miley was a vocal Bernie Sanders supporter in 2016 and during the recent primaries, Fox News reported.
