Bindi Irwin is back online after taking a social media hiatus.

On Saturday, the new mom came back to Instagram when her husband, Chandler Powell, posted a photo of Irwin cradling her three-month-old daughter Grace as he introduced fans to a new kangaroo joey.

Irwin wears a plaid shirt, jeans, and sneakers and grins from ear to ear as she holds her little bundle of joy in her husband’s pic. After he posted the pic, her fans took to the comments section to express their excitement about Irwin’s return.

In June, the 22-year-old daughter of Steve Irwin made headlines when she spoke about her estranged relationship with her grandfather. In a Facebook post, she claimed that the 82-year-old has shown “no interest in spending time with me or my family.”

Irwin’s last post came on June 21 when she shared a photo on Instagram of herself cuddling Grace and admitted she was “working hard” to protect her mental health.

“Hi guys, Just a note to say thank you for your support. I’m taking a break from social media and most of my work in the public eye for a month to be with my beautiful daughter and my wonderful family.”

She added, “I feel tremendously grateful to share our life and conservation work with you but I need some time to focus on the happiness that is my family (both human and animal). You can keep up with our adventures by following my family and Australia Zoo on social media. Recently, I’ve had many people reaching out to share their own stories of working hard to protect their mental health. Thank you for sharing and speaking your truth.”

She then spoke directly to her friends. She told them that if they struggled with mental health, she sees them and added that it’s “very real.” She also let them know that it needs to be “discussed and addressed.”

In late June, Irwin spoke openly about her difficulty having a positive relationship with her grandfather, Bob. “I really wish that my entire family could spend time with Grace,” she wrote on Facebook. “Unfortunately, my grandfather Bob has shown no interest in spending time with me or my family.”

She also alleged that Bob had “returned gifts I’ve sent after he opened them” and ignored her letters. “From the time I was a little girl he has ignored me,” she said, adding that she prefers to spend time doing anything else than be with his granddaughter.

“He has never said a single kind word to me personally. It breaks my heart.”
