Bindi Irwin Opened Up About Losing Her Father at 8 Years Old

Today, Bindi Irwin is now a parent. But tragically, she lost her own at just eight years old. Her father, “crocodile hunter” Steve Irwin, was killed after getting stung by a stingray. In 2019, She reflected on losing him when she was still so young.

“What gets to me are those moments when I’d love him to be here. To share what we’re doing,” she told Stellar Magazine. Irwin and her family now work at the Australia zoo, continuing on Steve Irwin’s legacy as an animal enthusiast and conservationist.

Still, they want to do it in their own way and forge their own paths. Irwin is dead set on making a difference, and their conservation work certainly does just that.

“We’re doing it our own way. But you can feel Dad’s spirit in everything we do. I’ve found such comfort in being able to follow in his footsteps,” she said.

Even though little Grace Warrior is still young, Irwin has been quick to introducer her baby girl into the beautiful world of the Australia Zoo, showing her plenty of the animals that the family loves so much.
