Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Have a New Volunteer for Upcoming Wedding’s Singer: Miley Cyrus

It’s a mutual admiration society. Pop singer Miley Cyrus would be happy to sing at Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s wedding. Further, she is a big fan of both the “Voice” coaches, Cyrus announced in a tweet on Sunday.

“ALSO @gwenstefani @blakeshelton I’ll be your wedding singer!” Cyrus tweeted. “I promise to be on my best behavior. Or worst. whatever you want! It’s your special day! Cheers to loving you both almost as much as you love each other!”

Cyrus was responding to a tweet by Stefani – “talented geeezzzz” – which was in turn a response to Cyrus tweeting a video of herself singing for NPR Music.

In the NPR video, Cyrus appears in a cramped girl’s bedroom. Then she leaves the small room behind and joins her band.

“I guess as I’ve gotten older… even though it’s not who I am, I’m not afraid of who I used to be,” Cyrus told NPR in 2017.

Cyrus sang an anti-Trump song for the NPR performance. She said that the song is political, but it’s also personal.

“This song, which is also about kind of the cross I’ve had to bear, in a way, of saying, ‘I feel like everything that I’ve done has just been up for all the opinions and I guess people being offended and all this s—,’” she said.

 A Serious Engagement

Shelton proposed to Stefani last autumn. But Shelton was already taking the relationship very seriously, and taking to heart the influence he has on Stefani’s sons, Apollo, Zuma and Kingston.

“That’s a scary moment for me because it’s one thing for me to be with the kids all the time and be their buddy, but you do have to consider after a while that they start to listen to things that you say. There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with that,” he told the “Today” show last summer after Stefani tagged him in a Father’s Day post.

Shelton is also reportedly serious about losing 10 pounds before the wedding. He told fellow country star Luke Bryan he hoped to motivate himself to actually do it by announcing his plans on a recent episode of “Party Barn Radio.”

“I feel like if I say 10, I have to do it,” Shelton said. “So 10. It’s out there now. I can’t let people down.”

Whether he sheds the pandemic pounds or not, Shelton clearly plans on making his marriage to Stefani turn out for the best.
