It’s no secret that Blake Shelton loves Gwen Stefani. But how does he feel about his stepsons?

Blake Shelton’s fiance, superstar Gwen Stefani, has three sons with her ex: Kingston James McGregor, 14, Zuma Nesta Rock, 12, and Apollo Bowie Flynn, 7. During an interview, Blake shared how seriously he takes his role as a stepfather.

“I don’t know if it’s as hard or harder or not as hard as being an actual, biological parent, you know?” said Shelton. “I have a stepfather in my life who’s one of my heroes. I love my stepfather and I look up to him and he’s like a father to me, so I have a good inspiration in my life for how to do this and the kind of stepdad I want to be. And I take it very serious.”

However, he also assured listeners that he also has a lot of fun with the new role.

“But I also have a blast with it, I’m not gonna lie,” said Shelton. “I don’t take it so serious that I’m not enjoying this time because I really am, especially now that we’re five years into this thing. I can’t imagine my life without these kids now.”

It sounds like Blake Shelton has found a great balance between serious and fun daddy duties.

Gwen Stefani Calls Blake Shelton Her “Best Friend” During Wedding Plan Interview

The couple announced their engagement in October of last year and have since been flooded with wedding questions. However, planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic isn’t exactly easy, even for superstar celebrities. During an interview, Stefani shared her thoughts on the experience. Gwen started by making a joke about the word “plans” during a time like this.

“Let’s talk about the word plans right now, which is a dirty word, right? Because nobody is making plans right now. It’s just one of those things that we just don’t know what’s going to happen next,” she said.

According to Gwen, part of the process has included choosing a date and just kind of hoping it all works out.

“We can’t really plan the wedding because we don’t know what’s happening. I think that we’re sort of just putting a target and date out there and seeing if we can work backward,” said Stefani.

However, she says that having her best friend and future hubby, Blake Shelton, by her side makes everything worthwhile.

“It’s exciting, it’s also kind of [nerve racking],” said Stefani. “It’s just really about, for me, more than I have this amazing best friend that is my guy in life, and I feel so grateful.”
