Blake Shelton is Not Impressed with ‘The Voice’ Co-Star Ariana Grande’s Lack of Pockets

In a new teaser for tonight’s episode of The Voice, Blake Shelton is unimpressed with Ariana Grande’s lack of pockets. The two coaches are heading into the brutal knockout rounds of the singing competition, but they’ve still managed to make time for jokes.

In the preview, the coaches say how worried they are about the knockouts. The knockouts, like the previous round, allow coaches to “steal” someone whose lost a round. But the new rounds don’t allow the coaches to “save” a team member like they do in the battle rounds.

Now, the competition is even more fierce, but it doesn’t stop Blake from ribbing Ariana grande for not having pockets.

“You’re never going to make it on this show,” he joked. “Voice coaches have to have pockets. Come on!”

The Voice will begin the knockout rounds tonight after the fierce battle rounds saw a few fan favorites walk out the door. Now that the competition has less people, however, the knockout rounds will bring even higher stakes to the table.

Ed Sheeran Joining ‘The Voice’ As a Mega Mentor

Ed Sheeran, whose a massive presence in the pop world, is coming on to the show as a “mega mentor” for the knockout rounds. The British pop star seems excited to be joining the show. Sheeran is known for his songs Photograph, Shape of You, and Perfect. Seriously, even if you don’t know who ed Sheeran is and don’t typically listen to the genre, you’ve probably heard those songs at some point.

Sheeran will help guide the contestants as they cover songs of their choice for the knockout rounds. It’s different than the battles, where a coach chooses a song that two artists will duet.

One Duo on the Show Has Described the Experience as a “Wild Ride”

Many fans would agree that there’s something incredibly delightful about the combined voices of father-son duo Jim and Sasha Allen. The two contestants, who are on team Ariana, have made it to the knockout rounds. In a recent interview, the two discussed what it’s been like being on the show.

“It’s just such a wild ride, it’s been amazing,” Sasha Allen shared in an interview with The Hartford Courant. “Every part of it has been so much fun, even the nerve-wracking parts.”

The two also love their coach, Ariana Grande.

“Aside from even being a coach, [Grande is] so much fun, and she’s truly a really funny and down-to-earth person who just radiates kindness, and we love her,” Sasha Allen said. When Ariana Grande turned around, you could tell Sasha was starstruck.

The new coach is arguably the biggest and most relevant name the voice has ever drawn. But the mega-celeb has been a huge fan of the show for years, and jumped at the opportunity to coach.

You can watch the voice air its first batch of knockouts tonight at 8/7 central!
