People love ’em some Ariana Grande. And hey, what’s not to love? She’s beautiful, talented, and apparently highly entertaining as the newest coach on “The Voice.” According to veteran Blake Shelton, the live studio audiences have been absolutely losing their minds every time Ariana walks on stage. Yeah, that checks out.

The first episode of “The Voice” Season 21 is right around the corner. Premiering on September 20, the new season is shaping up to be the most exciting yet. The loudest, at the very least. The show’s official Twitter account posted a promo video for the upcoming season, citing “big Ariana energy.” And that energy has not gone unnoticed by country star and “The Voice” defending champion Blake Shelton.

Is Blake a little threatened by Ariana? After all, he is the winningest coach in the show’s 10-year history. Grande has a lot of work to do if she wants to contest Shelton’s 8 total wins. But according to John Legend, Ariana is the biggest, most relevant artist to join the panel yet. Kelly Clarkson even admitted they’re all afraid of her (in the context of competition). All we know is Shelton has been blown away with the initial reception.

“You know, I’ve seen a lot of different coaches over the years join this panel. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a reaction quite like the reaction that we get when Ariana walks in here from our live studio audience. My ears are still ringing from when she walked out and introduced herself to the crowd. It’s unbelievable,” Shelton said in the promo video.

‘The Voice’ Star Blake Shelton Had Kind Words to Share About Co-Star Ariana Grande

Threatening as her presence and mind-boggling social media following may be to Blake Shelton and his fellow coaches, the country star only had praise for Ariana Grande. Clearly, her personality is infectious. Blake, like her swarms of adoring fans, simply can’t resist. It’s to the point where fans on social media have said they wouldn’t even wait to hear the other coaches out if Ariana turned her chair for them.

“You can tell she’s been a fan of the show for a long time. She’s awesome behind the scenes, in the hallway, in the dressing rooms, in the meetings,” Shelton said of Grande, continuing in the promo video.

But don’t let his admiration for Ariana Grande fool you. Blake Shelton is still looking to leave her in the dust when it comes to competition.

“I’m excited about it, I’m a fan of hers. I’m not going to lie, we’re still going to beat the crap out of her, you know, on the show. It’s our job — they pay us to win, Hoda. They don’t pay me to lose,” Shelton said on Today with Hoda & Jenna.
