Ladies and gentlemen, it’s a doozy – Blake Shelton is showing off a hilarious ACM throwback look that has to be seen to be believed.
There’s no doubt about it, Blake Shelton is one of the funniest country music legends around. Whether courtesy of his antics on The Voice or his own social media, Shelton is constantly blessing us with laughter.
His latest comes straight from the horse’s mouth via his Instagram account. Few stars can pull off self-deprecating humor this effortlessly. Even fewer, too, can so earnestly rock such business in the front – and this hefty ‘a party in the back.
Blake Shelton’s Glory Days?
The star posts himself in a brown leather trench coat so long it must’ve cost an entire cow. He’s sporting an equally-brown button up below it, and has somehow managed to close the top button around his neck. The look screams “classic country”, but no one must’ve told Shelton at the time that brown-on-brown is rarely… flattering. Something tells us he knows that now, though.
Shelton: “Y’all think I should bring back this look?”
There’s no hating on a country boy’s cowboy hat, either. Fans can even forgive his acid-wash jeans, a staple of the 90s and early 2000s. But we’ve got to talk about that mullet.
Is it luscious long hair he’s combed back underneath a signature black ten-gallon hat? Or is it a full on mullet situation that someone let him leave the barbershop with? Either way – is one better than the other?
Mullets were, at one time, all the rage in country culture and music. Thankfully, they’re a thing of the past. Most fans passionately agree, playing along with Shelton’s trademark humor:
mawmaw_vi: Just bring back Austin and leave the mullet behind. 😁
lcornick68: Let’s just not! 😉
adelerambo: Love you but NO
A few of Shelton’s celebrity friends, however, are in full support of the look making a resurgence. Sean Stemaly, a fellow country star, is all for it:
Perhaps this fan has hit the proverbial nail on the head, though:
gwenstefani_gx: um i would ask gwen what she thinks about that😂
Whether Shelton’s your favorite country star or not, you’ve got to admit: the man has come a long way.
