Last week, it was Danny Reagan actor Donnie Wahlberg’s turn. This week, it appears that Abigail Hawk has officially reported for duty on the set of “Blue Bloods” Season 12. The Abigail Baker actress compared arriving on set after her time off to the first day of school.

Since 2010, Abigail Hawk has been playing NYPD Detective Abigail Baker on the hit CBS series. Her character acts as an aide to Tom Selleck’s Frank Reagan. She ultimately decides who and who doesn’t get an audience with the Commissioner. Over the course of more than 200 episodes, Hawk has endeared herself to the “Blue Bloods” audience and has become a fan favorite.

Apparently, the love is mutual, as Hawk “couldn’t be happier” to be working on Season 12. She posted a series of pictures to Instagram, showing off her looks from the makeup chair to an assortment of her character’s silver jewelry.

The excitement among “Blue Bloods” fans for the upcoming season is palpable. Virtually the entire core cast is returning for the 12th installment of the long-running show. Season 12 is set to premiere at the beginning of October, which means a whole lot of work has to get done between now and then.

For Abigail Hawk, work on the upcoming season of the show will mean a change of pace. We’ve been following along on Instagram for the past few weeks as she and her family romped around Maine on vacation. And it looked like a blast.

Abigail Hawk’s ‘Blue Bloods’ Co-Star Can’t Wait to Work With Her on Season 12

As we saw from Donnie Wahlberg’s Season 12 filming announcement last week, actors on a show aren’t always together. Abigail Hawk wasn’t needed for the filming of any of those scenes.

It just goes to show that actors can be co-stars on TV shows without ever getting to spend that much time with each other. Another example is that of Maria Baez actress Marisa Ramirez. She’s a series regular on “Blue Bloods” with 174 episodes under her belt. The nature of her and Abigail Hawk’s roles on the show prevents them from sharing the screen all that often.

But during an interview with PopCulture in March, Ramirez talked about how much she would like the opportunity to work with Abigail Hawk more in the upcoming season.

“I would love to work with Abigail [Hawk], you know she’s just- we sat with each other at the wedding, and we had such a good time together. And there was that female energy that we just kind of were craving more of together. But it would be really nice to kind of be able to spend the day with her at work,” Ramirez said.
