The popular CBS family crime drama “Blue Bloods” debuted in 2010. Eleven years later, the show has completed its 11th season with a 12th in the works. It is a show that follows the lives of the Reagans – a family of New York City Police Department officers as they face the challenges of their jobs.
One of the actors who has helped make the show the success it is Bridget Moynahan. She plays Erin Reagan in the series.
While Erin did not father her grandfather, father, and brothers into the NYPD, she is not less passionate about the law. Erin decided to become an attorney and serve her city as an assistant district attorney. Over the years, her role in the district attorney’s office has meant that she butted heads against her family in the NYPD. These families members include her father, Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, and her brother, Danny Reagan. Tom Selleck stars as Frank, while Donnie Wahlberg stars as Danny on “Blue Bloods.”
Between the show’s fourth and fifth seasons in 2015, Bridget Moyhanan was asked during an interview with AOL how working on a television show that had been on the air for a few years was different than working in films and other projects she has done.
“It’s nice to be on a show where you can develop a character and watch it grow,” the former model said. “And they’re giving me more material this past year, so I’m … they’re letting me play a little bit more, challenging me more, and, my daughter’s growing up. There’s just a lot of different things for you to play with.”
Moynahan also had good things to say about Selleck, Wahlberg, and her other costars on “Blue Bloods.”
“And the cast is fantastic,” she said. “We actually all get along. So, it’s nice to be on a show like that.”
