“It’s been great,” the “Blue Bloods” star says of Selleck in the interview. “He commands that paternal respect straight off the bat, so it’s been an easy relationship to fall into.”
In the interview, Boston Magazine asked the television star one of the most important questions. One we are all certainly wondering about. What is it like to work with Tom Selleck’s mustache?
“Everybody’s so obsessed with it!” Moynahan exclaimed. The actress goes on to add that if anyone can pull off the look, it would be Selleck.
“Honestly, I don’t know why, other than he’s probably the one person who can still pull it off,” the “Blue Bloods” star said of her mustached costar.
Bridget Moynahan plays Erin Reagan, Frank Reagan’s only daughter on the hit CBS series. In the show, Frank (Tom Selleck) is often recalling some of Erin’s past misbehavior or misinformed decisions in order to get through to Erin’s daughter, Nicky. The father-and-daughter dynamic the two accomplished actors exude on screen is one that feels real to the viewer.
“Blue Bloods” Family Connections
In the hit law enforcement drama, Moynahan’s character joins her brothers, her father, and her grandfather, Henry (Len Cariou) into the Law Enforcement field. She currently serves as the New York City District Attorney.
Her “Blue Bloods” brothers, Danny (Donny Wahlberg) and Jamie (Will Estes) both work for the New York City Police Department. Danny as a detective, and Jamie as a Sargeant. Selleck’s character is the current New York City Police commissioner. A role that was once held by his father, Henry.
In the hit drama, Danny Reagan serves on the NYPD police force along with his brother Jamie (Will Estes) who is an NYPD Sargeant. Danny’s sister, Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) has also chosen a career in the law enforcement field. Erin currently serves as the New York City Assistant District attorney.
Tom Selleck’s Greatest Qualities
Tom Selleck’s knack for commanding paternal respect has helped the star as he plays father to Moynahan’s Erin, Danny (Wahlberg), and Jamie (Estes). His mustache may also be one of the actor’s best assets. However, Moynahan noted in the interview, there is something a little bit more to the longtime actor’s captivating charm. Simply put, this would be Selleck’s gentlemanly ways.
“You know, he’s an old-school gentleman,” Moynahan told the outlet. “It’s a pleasure to run into those every once in a while.”
The twelfth season of the hit CBS drama series is scheduled to premiere this fall.
