Blue Bloods star Bridget Moynahan is getting through Monday with a classic rock song. The actress plays Erin Reagan on the CBS drama. She just posted a photo of a song she’s listening to, and its “Too Much Time on My Hands” by Styx.

“Too Much Time on My Hands” by Styx was released in March 1981 and served as the second single to the band’s tenth album, Paradise Theatre. However, it’s unlikely Moynahan actually has too much time on her hands considering filming for season 12 of Blue Bloods is underway.

Bridget Moynahan is Busy with Filming ‘Blue Bloods’

Bridget Moynahan has joined her co-stars in shooting season 12 of Blue Bloods. While it’s hard to tell what’s going to happen, we know there’s going to be plenty to do, with plenty of Family dinners to attend. Blue Bloods follows Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck, and his Family.

Moynahan plays Erin Reagan, the only member of the family that didn’t also become a police officer. Instead, Erin is a Lawyer.

The Show is Big on Family

The show also stars Donnie Wahlberg, Will Estes, and Vanessa Ray. Donnie Wahlberg has previously stated that part of the reason he’s so attracted to the script is being able to play a fairly “normal” family. His character gets to explore a complex yet loving relationship with his father and squabble with his sister, Erin, played by Moynahan.

“When I read the pilot the family dinner scene attracted me most,” Wahlberg told The Huffington Post in 2013. “I’ve felt the heat of my dad staring down at me and my sister while we’re arguing and that same heat’s there with Tom Selleck and Bridget [Moynahan].”

He also mentioned that Blue Bloods is a family show in a way that he feels few shows are these days. While Blue Bloods is far from wholesome, the family unit is still strong.

“‘Blue Bloods’ is a throwback show because they don’t make shows that focus on families like this anymore,” Wahlberg said. “Nowadays, it’s about the family down the street selling heroin or the husband with three wives. Everything’s focused on the unusual family.

And even though the Reagans are a very important family, they still operate in a lot of ways people watching at home can relate to. It’s part of the reason many find the performances of Moynahan, Selleck, and Wahlberg so remarkable.

If you want to catch season 12 of Blue Bloods, you don’t have much longer to wait. Fall scheduling is about to begin for many TV networks and CBS is no exception. Blue Bloods Season 12 premieres on Friday, October 1st, and with all major cast members returning, it won’t be one you’ll want to miss.
