A new episode of “Blue Bloods” aired last night, and fans discovered an interesting tidbit about Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg.

One of the key storylines from last night’s episode revolved around Danny and a hit being placed on him. Someone wants him dead, so it falls on his little brother Jamie to protect him at all costs. That means invading Danny’s private space too and sleeping in his bedroom so no one breaks in while Danny’s sleeping.

Danny, of course, will have none of that. The official “Blue Bloods” Twitter account posted a hilarious clip of the two brothers that Wahlberg himself shared with fans. During the clip, Jamie and Danny argue about the new sleeping arrangements. And at the end, Jamie offers an olive branch to his older brother.

“Do you want to watch a movie? Because I brought one of your favorites, ‘The Verdict,'” Jamie says.

“Ohhhhh great,” Danny says sarcastically. “I’ll go make some popcorn.”

The “Blue Bloods” Twitter account’s caption summed up our thoughts. “Movie and some popcorn? Sounds like a plan to us.”

But can we talk about Danny Reagan’s favorite movie being “The Verdict?” What an absolutely stellar pick. It’s a Paul Newman classic, with the actor starring as an outcast, alcoholic lawyer from Boston named Frank Galvin. The lawyer decides to take on an intense medical malpractice case to try and turn his career around.

Starring in the film with Newman is Charlotte Rampling, Jack Warden, and James Mason. It premiered in 1982 and was based on the book written by Barry Reed. The film even received five Academy Award nominations, including for best picture, best actor in a leading role and supporting role, best director, and best writing.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Donnie Wahlberg Sends Shoutout to Fellow Co-Star

We all know that the “Blue Bloods” cast operates like a family on set. But Donnie Wahlberg sent a special shoutout to one co-star, in particular, during the new episode premiere yesterday.

Wahlberg posted a photo of Len Cariou on Twitter, at the point when he appeared in the episode. The “Blue Bloods” star wrote a heartfelt message to Cariou, saying, “What a truly sweet man Len Cariou is. Onscreen and off. Love you, Gramps.”

On the show, Cariou plays Henry Reagan, grandfather to Wahlberg’s character, Danny. The two have a special bond on the show, and apparently in real life too.

The fans absolutely loved the sweet message from Wahlberg to Cariou, commenting on the “Blue Bloods” star’s post.

“Awww, so sweet!” one fan wrote. “I’m sure he loves you just the same. Do you call him Gramps offscreen, too?”

“You are blessed to work with a group of caring people!” another person said.

One other fan commented, “Just a total sweet heart and all-around good guy. And the fact that he’s Canadian is a bonus. #LenCariou #BlueBloods.”
