Blue Bloods star Donnie Wahlberg is looking back at an old New Kids on the Block magazine cover. Friday, for what the interned dubs as “flashback Friday” Wahlberg retweeted a picture of the old cover.

Long before Wahlberg starred in Blue Bloods, he was a part of the famous boyband New Kids on the Block with Jonathan and Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood. The band still does performances. In fact, they performed last week at Fenway Park.

Donnie Wahlberg Had a Sweet Message to a Child Who Was a Victim of Theft at His Recent Show

While Wahlberg’s recent show with New Kids on the Block at Fenway park was enjoyable for most, one young New Kids on The Block fan became a victim of theft on the way out. 11-year-old Connor Stuart was incredibly excited to see the band. His father played New Kids on the Block for him before passing away when Connor was only two.

When walking out of the concert, a woman snatched a New Kids on the Block T-shirt right from Stuart’s hands.

“I tried to make her stop walking away and then come back and give it to me, but she wouldn’t,” the child told  WCVB. His sister shared the story on social media, earning the attention from Donnie Wahlberg’s fans. Then, it got back to Donnie.

Donnie shared a video message to Connor. His mother then shared the clip to WCVB. The Blue Bloods star had a truly touching message for Stuart.

“Hey Connor, this is Donnie Wahlberg from New Kids on the Block. I wanted to let you know that I heard about what happened, and I’m very sorry,” Wahlberg said. “But I also want to let you know that me and the guys are putting a special care package together for you, full of T-shirts and cool stuff from New Kids, and I hope it makes you feel better.”

Connor was reportedly thrilled with the message, and Wahlberg went on to say that he wants to meet Connor next time he’s in Boston. Connor’s mother said it helped restore her faith in people. It’s not Wahlberg’s first act of kindness, and it likely won’t be the last.

For now, however, he has to get back to the set of Blue Bloods.
