How does the saying go? Don’t quit your day job? Well, Donnie Wahlberg heeded that advice. Apparently, he brings his day job to the “Blue Bloods” set regularly. And at least one of his costars on the hit CBS police drama loves the energy he provides.

After all, what’s better than a free show? New Kids on the Block fans pay good money to see Donnie and his band perform regularly. Marisa Ramirez, though? She gets the entertainment for free.

Donnie Wahlberg happens to be an abundantly talented individual. He first gained recognition as a member of the old-school boy band New Kids on the Block in the late 1980s. And it’s safe to say that Donnie’s musical pursuits were his first professional passion.

So when he first broke into Hollywood and began landing roles, his singing and dancing didn’t stop. In fact, his acting pursuits only began after New Kids on the Block broke up in 1994. You may be able to take the man out of music, but you can’t take the music out of the man. By the time they got back together in 2008, Donnie already had a pretty serious acting career under his belt. Yet his love for performing with NKOTB remained.

Only two years later, in 2010, Donnie landed the role of Danny Reagan on “Blue Bloods.” His band freshly reunited, the actor had music on his mind more than ever. And when Marisa Ramirez joined the show in 2013 as Danny Reagan’s partner Maria Baez, she quickly picked up on the love he has for his day job.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Donnie Wahlberg is ‘Fun’ to be Around

Donnie Wahlberg is someone who shouldn’t quit his day job because it made him a world-famous pop star. More importantly, he loves doing it. The “Blue Bloods” cast is among the primary beneficiaries of that passion. And the result is a costar who is a blast to be around.

In an interview with SUP Creative Group from 2017, “Blue Bloods” star Marisa Ramirez talked about the relationship she has with Donnie Wahlberg.

“Donnie is a great guy who is a lot of fun to be around.  He is like my big brother and we have a great friendship.  He always wants me to come see one of his shows in concert or on their cruise with fans.  So I will go see a show once in a while.  Donnie Is always singing and dancing on set!  He enjoys his time with the band and loves meeting his fans,” Ramirez said.

While Ramirez likely spends the most time with Donnie on set as his on-screen partner, she is hardly the first cast member to observe how excited he gets about sharing his love for New Kids on the Block.
