Blue Bloods Season 12 premieres incredibly soon. And as the premiere date draws closer and closer, more information is coming out about what’s going on with Erin Reagan and the rest of her family.

Erin Reagan’s new case in the season 12 premiere has a shocking connection to her boss. Erin is played by Bridget Moynahan.

Per TV Line, in the episode titled Hate is Hate, Erin decides to take a look at a decades-old cold case. She soon realizes that her boss, D.A. Kimberly Crawford, was the primary witness to the murder at only 13 years old. It’s a pretty intense way to return, and we’d expect nothing less from Blue Bloods. The series ended last season with a gritty two-part finale and looks to be moving right along.

Some photos from the season premiere show D.A Kimberly Crawford at her desk. One shows Erin handing Crawford an envelope probably related to the case. How Crawford is going to react to Erin unearthing this case is unclear.

Many fans are hoping to see more of Erin Reagan this season. As the only Reagan that’s in a different career path other than Law Enforcement, she sometimes gets put a bit outside the spotlight. But with a storyline like this, it looks like fans may get their wish.

Erin’s Storyline is the Tip of The Iceberg for the ‘Blue Bloods’ Season Premiere

While what’s going on with Erin seems gripping, there are also a ton of other storylines happening in the first episode. The main storyline follows a battle between commissioner Frank Reagan and the Mayor, Peter Chase. The two duke it out over the best way to protect the city from an uptick in crime after a major shooting.

Photos of the premiere episode show the two meeting up in the Mayor’s office, but it’s hard to tell who will walk out of that office satisfied.

Finally, Danny Reagan hires a psychic, Maggie Gibson, to help solve the tragic murder of a young child. This is not the first time Maggie Gibson has been on the series, and many are excited to see her back. The interaction between her and Maria Baez should be hilarious.

It’s hard to tell where the rest of the season will take our favorite characters. We know we’ll see more of Joe Hill at some point, and Eddie and Jamie are going to continue furthering their careers. Of course, it wouldn’t be Blue Bloods without those famous family dinners, so you can expect plenty more of those as well.

Blue Bloods returns on Friday, October 1st. The show has been struggling in the ratings over the past few seasons, but it still has a dedicated fanbase excited to see what happens next.
