‘Blue Bloods’: Relive Intense ‘Cover Me’ Clip With Danny and Jamie From Season 11

“Blue Bloods” characters Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) got involved in a nasty gunfight during Season 11, along with two of their compatriots. When the gunrunning outfit they’re up against comes to get them, they have little choice but to stand their ground and battle it out.

The lengthy scene had audiences on the edge of their seats. Relive the tension-packed moments here:

‘Blue Bloods’ Renewed for Season 12

On April 15, CBS announced that it was renewing “Blue Bloods” for another season. “Blue Bloods” has seen its ratings drop in recent seasons. However, its stars have said they can see it continuing for awhile into the future.

“It’s still the number one show on Friday night for 10 years and it’s been a great run and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon,” Wahlberg told PopCulture early last year.

Tom Selleck Says He Doesn’t See an Endpoint

At the end of Season 10, “Blue Bloods” star Tom Selleck, who plays NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan on the show, said he doesn’t see the show winding down anytime soon.

“I don’t think there is an end point,” Selleck told People in May of last year. “I think there is a lot of life in the show, as long as you let your characters grow and get older.”

Selleck said they’ve got a devoted audience, who have stuck with the ensemble drama for 11 seasons now. And besides, he hinted, “Blue Bloods” is only just hitting its stride.

“There is an evolution,” Selleck explained. “It started out as a character-driven show and it’s even more than that now. When you get to a point like this, and we certainly had it on [Magnum P.I.], the audience is really inside the main characters’ heads.”

Moreover, Selleck seems to have grown quite attached to his “Blue Bloods” costars. The cast has become a tight-knit family. Selleck has noticed a sense of “kinship” among them that deepens as the show progresses.

He said he’s guest-starred on “quite a few” shows that weren’t much fun due to conflicts among the cast. But on “Blue Bloods,” the epic family dinner scenes are “like a reunion of friends.”

“Sometimes it’s hard for the directors to get us to concentrate,” he said. “We do the work, and we do it well, but we’re also screwing around and kidding each other and catching up. What we have is truly a blessing.”

“I love them all,” Selleck added. “We’re all friends.”
