‘Blue Bloods’: Is Sami Gayle Teasing New Work on Show in ‘NY State of Mind’ Pic?

Actress Sami Gayle, who plays Nicky Reagan-Boyle on “Blue Bloods,” dropped a photo with a hint about New York City on Thursday.

Will Gayle show up on the CBS police drama at some point this season? Hmm. Gayle’s character was offered a job in San Francisco in Season 10 and accepted. Nicky just appeared in one episode last season.

Maybe she is or is not in New York City. Maybe she’s just visiting friends there. After all, Gayle graduated from Columbia University that is in the area.

Of course, speculation can surround “Blue Bloods” because the show films a lot on the streets of the Big Apple. Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck, is the NYPD Commissioner.

Well, we don’t really know for sure why Gayle might have NYC on her mind. But we do have this sweet photo that she dropped on Instagram on Thursday.

Obviously, Gayle riffs off the title of a Billy Joel song, “New York State of Mind,” for her caption.

What does this photo mean in the big picture? Well, we’ll have to wait and see if Gayle shows up on “Blue Bloods” or not.

As the saying goes on television, stay tuned.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Wahlberg Talks About ‘Differing Opinions’

One of the cast members on “Blue Bloods” who has been there since Season 1 is Donnie Wahlberg.

He plays Detective Danny Reagan on the crime show. Wahlberg also is one of those cast members who get a seat at the Reagan dinner table. For those who may not know, a lot of opinions get spread around from Frank, Danny, and others.

They are lynchpins for family members on “Blue Bloods” to air grievances and give advice.

Sometimes, viewers will see some heated chats take place.

Wahlberg has talked about those differences between the Reagans and their importance.

“Despite the fact that it’s a law enforcement family, it’s a law enforcement family with a lot of differing opinions,” Walhberg said in an article on Looper.

What causes those opinions to flare up? Well, they can be around issues that others are dealing with in their lives. “Blue Bloods” fans get a chance to see a particular situation from different viewpoints.

“On any given dinner scene, you could have eight people at the table, all with eight different opinions of a real-life situation that’s occurring,” Wahlberg said.

So, “Blue Bloods” will offer more dinner scenes this coming season.

The show’s 12th season kicks off on Friday, Oct. 1, at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central. Besides Wahlberg, Selleck, and Gayle, other stars include Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Vanessa Ray, and Len Cariou.
