What does it feel like to be part of a global effort to change the world, end poverty, and fight for worldwide equality? Pretty good, it seems…based on a recent tweet posted by Blue Bloods star Bridget Moynahan.

“Using my super powers for good,” the actress wrote in the Monday morning social media post.

“Helping to bring awareness to serious issues that need immediate care and attention,” Moynahan continued. Thank you @GlblCtzn.”

Of course, the Blue Bloods star was looking absolutely amazing this weekend as she joined fellow actress Katie Holmes on stage during the Global Citizen’s Live New York City event in Central Park this weekend.

And, while Bridget Moynahan’s focus was most certainly on the Global Citizen cause, the actress also made sure to give a shout-out to those who helped her shine during the event.

“Hair: Stanley Hall Makeup: Lori Hamlin Penske,” Moynahan added to the Twitter post.

A Global Event

The Global Citizen Live event is the world’s first-ever worldwide event to be hosted by the recently developed movement.

The massive worldwide event included stars from all walks of entertainment performing, speaking, and inspiring Global Citizens all around the world.

Some of these stars and speakers performed on stage, while others contributed to the one-of-a-kind event by broadcasting remotely.

The twenty-four-hour-long non-stop event began on Saturday, September 25 with bases around the globe in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and London.

Trees Are Our Lifeline

During the history-making event, Bridget Moynahan took the stage in Central Park with fellow actress Katie Holmes to address some environmental issues faced by countries all around the globe.

The Blue Bloods actress spoke about the role trees have in the environment; healing the environment all across the globe by cleaning the air we all breathe.

Holmes and Moynahan noted that the life-saving trees are the most effective line of defense in keeping the world’s air clean by pulling deadly greenhouse gasses from the Earth’s atmosphere, keeping the air clean.

The actresses went on to note that as part of their contribution to the Global Citizen efforts, they will be planting trees in New York City’s Central Park.

“Look around the stage. You see these 64 saplings? That’s what we call baby trees,” the Blue Bloods actress said to the huge crowd during the weekend event.

“They’re all indigenous to the region,” Moynahan continued. “And they’re going to be planted tomorrow in Central Park, Inwood Hill Park, and Seton Falls Park.”

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Calls For a Global Effort

Both Bridget Moynahan and Katie Holmes called on audiences across the globe to take similar action to combat the CO2 crisis.

“To inspire you to take action, plant some trees, and bring those CO2 numbers down, have a look at this image,” Holmes said during her time on stage with Moynahan.

“Here’s highly degraded land in Madagascar seven years ago,” the actress explained. And here’s that same land now, completely reforested.”

Both Holmes and the Blue Bloods star noted that this kind of effort could take place all across the globe; if everyone pledges to do even just a little bit.

“It works,” said Holmes. “We can do this a billion times all over the world.”
