‘Blue Bloods’ Star Bridget Moynahan Wishes ‘Partner’ Steve Schirripa ‘Happy Birthday’ With New Behind Scenes Pic

While liking an actor you work worth doesn’t guarantee on-screen chemistry, it certainly makes your job easier. For “Blue Bloods” stars Bridget Moynahan and Steve Schirripa, their characters’ on-screen friendship follows them off the camera.

The two are friends and Moynahan was happy to have Schirripa join the “Blue Bloods” family. “He is, he’s great, you know. I was thrilled that they found me somebody that not only looked the part but really feels like the part. And he, um, he’s kind of dropped right into the role,” Moynahan said about her costar during a 2020 interview.

On Friday, Sept. 2, Moynahan wished Schirripa a happy birthday on social media. In “Blue Bloods” Bridget Moynahan plans Erin Reagan. She is an assistant district attorney for New York City. Steve Schirripa’s character, Anthony Abetemarco, also works in the district attorney’s office in the Big Apple. His role is that of an investigator for the office.

Steve Schirripa Joined the Cast of ‘Blue Bloods’ in 2015

According to IMDb, Steve Schirripa was born on Sept. 3, 1958, in Brooklyn, New York. That makes him 63 years old today. Just how old his character is on the popular CBS drama has been a matter of debate between fans.

He joined the cast of “Blue Bloods” in 2015. Since that time, he has appeared in more than 90 episodes. He is expected to appear in the show’s upcoming 12th season. That season is scheduled to begin on Oct. 1. The show aired its first episode during 2010.

While his work on “Blue Bloods” has to be gaining him more fans, most television viewers will recognize Steve Schirripa thanks to his role in the iconic HBO series “The Sopranos.” In this respected show, the actor played the character of Bobby “Bacala” Baccalieri.

His role on “The Sopranos” was a major career boost for him. In fact, he once said it was like “hitting the lottery.”

“Sometimes, you don’t take a step back to think about that, ’cause sometimes you’re looking for the next thing, the next thing, the next thing. But yeah, I’ve got very lucky to be part of all these projects, and I work very hard and I’m lucky,” the “Blue Bloods” actor said during a 2017 interview. “And listen, I wasn’t really an actor before ‘The Sopranos.’ I was, but I had a day job, so to get on any show would’ve been incredible. But to get on that show was like hitting the lottery.”
