Blue Bloods actor Donnie Wahlberg believes that Wilder and Fury are bringing boxing back to its glory days.

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury went head to head in the ring again. Their third fight concluded with Fury winning once again. Last year, famously won Fury in the seventh round with a technical knockout. This ended Wilder’s title reign which lasted five years. Wahlberg didn’t play favorites but believes that this fight, was nothing short of perfection.

“Wow. What a fight. A throwback to the days of the heavyweight greats. Respect both men for their heart and for putting it all on the line. Bring on #FuryWilderIV

Boxing has been one of Wahlberg’s passions and has played a boxer on the big screen more than once. In 2006 he starred in Annapolis and in 2010 he was in The Fighter.

His favorite way to get in shape for the roles is touring with New Kids On The Block.

“Our [New Kids] shows are the best cardio,” he told WebMD. “I probably burn as many calories as a boxer in a 12-round fight.”

And he has challenged his fair share of fellow celebs and boxers to charitable boxing matches. In 2012, he famously challenged Tie Domi to a fight. The pair met when Wahlberg was just a teenager in Canada.

“Hey, Tie Domi, I’m officially challenging you [to a fight],” he said via Yahoo. “Because there’s no hockey, I’m officially challenging you to a fight at the Air Canada Centre. Are you in or not? … Don’t duck me. … We’re gonna have to open the double doors so your head can fit through.”

Domi declined the Blue Bloods star’s invitation and said that he didn’t want to hurt his “pretty face.”

Why the ‘Blue Bloods’ Relationship Everyone Hopes For, Won’t Happen

Most fans of the hit crime drama believe that Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) and Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) should date. The partners share a special bond that not many people experience.

Unfortunately, the Blue Bloods stars said that a relationship is not in the cards for their characters. Wahlberg gave an excellent reason as to why it can’t happen between the two officers.

“Will Estes plays my younger brother on the show and Vanessa Ray plays his now-wife. And they started as partners. And the minute they got together and got married, they don’t have scenes anymore. So, if they start a relationship, we won’t have scenes together and then I’ll miss my friend,” Wahlberg said in an interview with The Talk.

Marisa also crushed fans’ dreams of a romantic relationship between their characters. “I don’t want to be here if I don’t have scenes with him,” she added.
