“Blue Bloods” star Donnie Wahlberg is a busy man. Between his work as Detective Danny Reagan on the popular CBS drama and the time he spends performing with New Kids on the Block, he doesn’t have much free time.
In fact, the now 52-year-old star was so busy that he even worked on his birthday. And, unsurprisingly, he received many happy birthday wishes on his special day, which was Tuesday, Aug. 17. Based on a social media post Donnie Wahlberg shared on Wednesday, Aug. 18, he had to take a break from work in order to respond to all the well-wishes he received in honor of his 52nd trip around the sun.
According to a tweet by Wahlberg, his brief break from his work on “Blue Bloods” meant that someone had to step in for him on the show’s set. This stand-in stepped in for Wahlberg during a rehearsal for a scene.
“When you’re busy tweeting on your bday, while shooting @BlueBloods_CBS, so they have a P.A. play your role in a scene in your place,” Wahlberg tweeted.
Wahlberg Praised His Stand-In for Television Scene
He then praised the work of the “P.A.” in his tweet. In fact, he liked it so much that he thought that the man should take his place in “Blue Bloods.”
“Great work Sharkey. Guess we’ll be watching you Friday nights this fall,” Donnie Wahlberg also said.
Based on Wahlberg’s video, the scene appears to take place in an interrogation room inside a New York City Police Department station. The man filling in for him stands next to his acting partner, actress Marisa Ramirez – and Danny Reagan’s partner, Detective Maria Baez – in the video.
They are sitting across a table from a man and a woman. If you have seen an episode of “Blue Bloods” it’s safe to assume that one of these people is an attorney who is there to represent the other person during the interrogation. Fans will just have to wait and see if this speculation is accurate.
Donnie Wahlberg Received Birthday Wishes from His ‘Blue Bloods” Costars
Some of the many happy birthday wishes that Wahlberg received on his birthday came from his costars on “Blue Bloods.”
One example of these well-wishes came from Bridget Moynahan. As fans of the show are aware, she plays assistant district attorney Erin Reagan in the show. Erin is the sister of Wahlberg’s character, Danny. “Happy Birthday, @donniewahlberg. Love you Brother D!” Moynahan posted to Instagram.
Another happy birthday wish for Wahlberg came from actress Marisa Ramirez. She also shared her message via Instagram. “Happy Birthday to my partner in fighting crime @donniewahlberg. Grateful everyday for you and your light! Sorry we are working but at least we are laughing!!! Love you my friend!!” Ramirez posted.
