‘Blue Bloods’ Star Donnie Wahlberg Hilariously Tricked Brother Mark Wahlberg Into Doing a Music Video

The Wahlberg brothers are both wildly famous. And that means that they’re both wildly busy. But back in April 2020, “Blue Bloods” star Donnie tricked Mark into taking some time out of his schedule to do a cameo for his New Kids on the Block music video.

It doesn’t take a fan to know who Mark Wahlberg is. The man is an A-list movie star in addition to being a prolific producer. Little remembered these days, however, is his time in Hip Hop. That’s right, beloved actor Mark Wahlberg began his career as rapper Marky Mark, the lead member of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.

Their 1991 classic, “Good Vibrations,” is simply unforgettable.

As you can see, Mark is no stranger to music videos. But the Marky Mark persona is such a far cry from his current actor image that it’s not necessarily in his best interest to revisit it. At least, that’s what “Blue Bloods” star, and brother, Donnie seems to think.

As a result, Donnie had to bend the truth a little bit to convince Mark to make an appearance in a 2020 New Kids on the Block music video for a song called “House Party,” which revolved around the pandemic and raised money for No Kid Hungry. In a TMZ interview, the “Blue Bloods” star talked about the video.

“Of course, my brother Mark’s in there. I had to trick him a little bit. I had to Jedi mind trick him. Cause me and Jenny have been doing TikTok videos. Mark stays away from music since Marky Mark, you know? He doesn’t want to contaminate his Mark Wahlberg reputation with Marky Mark-ness.”

You can watch the video for “House Party” below. Jordin Sparks, Ken Jeong, and none other than Carrie Underwood also make cameos.

The ‘Blue Bloods’ Star Recently Tricked His Own Wife on ‘The Masked Singer’

Back in May, Donnie was up to his prankster ways once again. He made a series of appearances on the hit singing show “The Masked Singer” as a crooning rooster.

His performances were a hit, and the entire judging panel had absolutely no idea who could have been behind the mask. Even the “Blue Bloods” star’s own wife, Jenny McCarthy, was way off on her guess.

When Donnie finally took off the mask and revealed himself, McCarthy was in absolute disbelief.

“Two reasons why I’m here, honestly. One, obviously, to see my wife. And two, it’s been so long, you know, since I performed for my fans, and New Kids on the Block fans, affectionately known as ‘Block Heads,’ they’re like family. They’re my heart,” Donnie said after the big reveal.

Donnie definitely seems to be the trickiest of the Wahlberg brood.
