‘Blue Bloods’ Star Donnie Wahlberg Shows Love to the ‘Blockheads’ After Return to Stage With New Kids on the Block

After a year of canceled concerts and postponed events, “Blue Bloods” star Donnie Wahlberg and his band, New Kids on the Block, finally returned to the stage.

The old-school boy band made their post-pandemic debut at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland on Wednesday. Thousands of fans crammed into the amphitheater as the “Blue Bloods” star and NKOTB kicked off their new tour.

“Merriweather Post Pavilion, let’s go!! 752 days later, we’re hittin’ the stage, baby,” NKOTB’s official Twitter site tweeted yesterday.”We can’t wait to get the #NKOTBSummer21 party officially started with our friends @TheSaltNPepa tonight.”

After the show, the band posted several awesome snapshots of the concert in the tweet below.

“What an epic night in Maryland!!!” they captioned the post. “That show is going down in NKOTB history! Thanks for the warm welcome back, Blockheads! Next stop… Fenway!!! We [love] U more then you will ever know.”

The “Blue Bloods” star took to his own Twitter page to thank his “Blockhead fam” for showing up in full force. Fans of New Kids on the Block lovingly refer to themselves as “Blockheads.”

“Love you my Blockhead fam,” Wahlberg wrote last night. “Cannot tell you how full my heart is seeing so many of your faces tonight. You are my friends and family forever. #loveeternal #BHLove.”

Wahlberg and NKOTB have been hyping up their in-person concerts all summer. The next big one on the list is on Friday, August 6 at Fenway Park in Boston.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Donnie Wahlberg Receives Love From His ‘Blockhead Fam’

Several of the “Blue Bloods” star’s followers replied to his tweet last night. Some posted videos of the show at Merriweather Park Pavilion and expressed how wonderful it was to see NKOTB in person again.

Blockhead Jenni Murphy tweeted, “What an incredible, emotional night tonight was. My heart is SO full. This love will last forever indeed! #WeBelieved #loveeternal #BHLove.”

Another fan commented, “@DonnieWahlberg getting that hug from you after being a fan for 32 years meant the world to me. Getting to meet all of you and seeing the happiness in your faces and voices while performing is a memory I will never forget! Hope to see you at Fenway.”

One fan, who said she’s an essential worker and couldn’t make the show, also posted a sweet message to Donnie’s tweet. “Miss You sooo much!!! Thank You to our Block Nation Fam for all the lives…FaceTime, posts & love shared for all of us BH’s at home who couldn’t make it!! You are sooo appreciated!!!”

Several fans also mentioned how emotional it was when the “Blue Bloods” star did a tribute to his mother Alma, who passed away earlier this year.

According to the NKOTB website, the band has no further shows planned after the one at Fenway Park on Friday.
