For one star of CBS’ police drama “Blue Bloods,” having co-star Bridget Moynahan around on the show means a lot to her.

Vanessa Ray, who plays Officer Eddie Janko-Reagan, talked about Moynahan’s presence during a 2018 interview with Long Island Weekly.

“Coming into this very established family, they have a laundry list of inside jokes and they really wanted to catch me up on all of them,” Ray said. “It’s a very playful room.

“I was obviously intimidated and nervous the first couple of times going to family dinner, but I immediately felt welcomed,” Ray said of the “Blue Bloods” cast.” There really is such a family aspect to it. I’m really fortunate to get to sit with Bridget [Moynahan], who is like the big sister I’ve always wanted.”

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Found Cozy Friendship With Fellow Actress On Show

Moynahan plays Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan on the show. Ray’s character is married to Sergeant Jamie Reagan, played by Will Estes.

So, the interaction between Ray and Moynahan at the Reagan dinner table is something to keep an eye on as “Blue Bloods” gets ready for another season.

Season 12 of the popular Friday night show will kick off on Oct. 1 at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central. You better believe it, Outsiders, that there will be plenty of Reagan dinner table scenes this season, too. And yes, before you ask, Tom Selleck will return as NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan and head of the dinner table.

Obviously, Ray, Moynahan, and Estes are coming back, too. Two others who have been on “Blue Bloods” since the first season, Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Detective Danny Reagan, and Len Cariou, who plays Retired NYPD Commissioner Henry Reagan, return.

Wahlberg Expressed His Deep Respect For Selleck When It Comes To Acting

Wahlberg entered “Blue Bloods” with some acting chops, but he already knew that working with someone like Selleck would be worth it.

He talked about being around Selleck in an interview with TV Tango.

“It’s fun, interesting, and sort of electric, having played Danny and having to deal with his dad, Frank,” Wahlberg said. Selleck is Danny’s father, on “Blue Bloods.”

“At the same time, it’s fun being Donnie and being every day on the set with Tom,” Wahlberg said. “Tom is a leader himself.

“He is a very experienced, very smart guy,” Wahlberg said. “Very dedicated, much like myself. There are times when we both see the hidden game, and we both want the same thing but we have very different ideas on how to do it.”

Wahlberg is talking about the process of acting with someone like Selleck. Before playing Frank Reagan, Selleck had a previous TV hit with “Magnum, P.I.”
