Blue Bloods star Sami Gayle just shared a gorgeous photo of herself in a beautiful dress. The actress has played the youngster Nicki Reagan on the show for years. Fans have watched as Gayle has grown up before their eyes. Now, the 25-year-old actress is doing great work on the show.

“Stepping out for the weekend like…JK, in sweats and a tee,” the actress wrote.

There’s been no official word yet about Sami Gayle returning to Blue Bloods for season 12. Fans of the actress will just have to see. Gayle did make an appearance in last season’s finale. However, her appearances on the show have always been a bit sporadic.

In Blue Bloods, Nicki was in college just like Gayle. With the character written as a busy bee whose spending time away from family, it won’t be surprising if we don’t see much of Nicki next season. But despite this, season 12 is shaping up to be a great season.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Tom Selleck Feels the Show Has ‘No End Point’

While the show is long in years, it sounds like Tom Selleck thinks it has the potential to last longer. While fans have speculated that the show is coming to an end soon, the star has voiced that Blue Bloods has a recipe for longevity.

“I don’t think there is an end point,” Selleck told People about the show. “I think there is a lot of life in the show, as long as you let your characters grow and get older.” Both the characters and the show as a whole have grown and evolved immensely since its debut. Now, that pattern of growth could serve the show well in its later years.

Fans also have gotten to know these characters incredibly well. With so many episodes and plotlines to pick from, Blue Bloods has a devoted fan base that Selleck said truly knows the characters.

“There is an evolution,” Selleck said. “It started out as a character-driven show and it’s even more than that now. When you get to a point like this, and we certainly had it on [Magnum P.I.], the audience is really inside the main characters’ heads.”

But despite Selleck’s faith in the longevity of the show, they later found out that season 11 could be the show’s end. Ratings were low, and showrunner Kevin Wade was convinced the show was going to get canceled when they were told they had a two-part finale. He thought it would serve as a place to wrap the series, but thankfully for Blue Bloods fans, the show will continue this Fall.

Blue Bloods season 12 will premiere on Friday, October 1st
