The hit series Blue Bloods may be mostly about criminal investigations in New York City, but according to Will Estes, Donnie Wahlberg seems to enjoy making everyone laugh while on set.
During his recent interview with Looper, Este described his Blue Bloods castmate as one of the most engaging people he has ever met. “[Wahlberg’s] a huge pain. No, I’m kidding! It’s fun. It’s probably as much fun as I’ve ever had as an actor.”
Estes also stated with Walhberg, everyone on the Blue Bloods set is constantly laughing between takes. “We’re always making jokes, and even when we’ve got a long day, we’re always having fun and up to some antics one way or another.”
Estes then admitted that his Blue Bloods co-star is something he has never seen before and experienced. “[Wahlberg] just completely engages with people. It’s really incredible. I almost didn’t know you could do that before I saw Donnie do it.”
Will Estes States He Believes ‘Blue Bloods’ Characters Jamie & Eddie Are Ready For Kids
While also chatting with Looper, Will Estes said that he believes his Blue Bloods character, Jamie, is ready to have kids with Vanessa Ray’s Eddie. “Yeah, I think Jamie could do it. I think Jamie is ready for it. I definitely think Eddie could do it.”
Estes said that the “trick” would be finding a sitter for the Blue Bloods characters’ children. “You can obviously hire people and get help. But depending on your hours, that can be an intense situation,” Estes explained. He also shared that he understands that a lot of people find it’s difficult to have a dog holding down a full-time job. And kids are the next level.
“But are the characters ready? Could the characters do it? Absolutely, yeah,” the Blue Bloods star declared. “I haven’t thought too much more about it. But I think so.”
Here is How Will Estes Hopes ‘Blue Bloods’ to End
When asked what he thinks is a fitting end for Blue Bloods, Will Estes shared that he hopes the cast will get some warning about what season will be the final season. “I hope we know that it’s coming and wrap it up so in some ways it can be like a movie. You want a fitting end to a story.”
Estes also hopes that he and his Blue Bloods castmates will have a chance to know it comes and to wrap things up. “And watch these characters walk off into the sunset, so to speak,” Estes stated. “When the show goes down.”
Despite his thoughts about the subject, Estes seems a bit optimistic.
“But maybe [Blue Bloods] just never will [end]. Maybe we’ll just ride on into the Law & Order sunset, you know?”
