Long story short: Later this season, but likely not in this calendar year.
A new report out from TV Line suggests that while the show has yet to officially book Hermann for another episode, they’re looking to invite him back to play Jack again sometime this season.
Given the ‘Blue Bloods’ Production Schedule, Hermann’s Appearance Is a Ways Off
As Matt Carter points out, “Blue Bloods” often has taped several episodes ahead of what’s currently on the air. So if the show hasn’t even booked Hermann yet, that likely means we won’t be seeing him in any of the remaining episodes of 2021.
It should be especially interesting to see Jack back in the picture as Erin mulls a run for district attorney. How will he react to her ambitions? Fans will be at the edge of their seats.
In the meantime, “Blue Bloods” returns this Friday with a new episode. It may be Jack-free, but it promises to include plenty of Reagan family drama. Tune in to CBS at 10 p.m. ET to catch the action.
Hermann Got His Break on ‘Law & Order: SVU’
Hermann, who is married to “Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay, had appeared on TV shows including “Guiding Light,” “Beautiful People” and “Angela’s Eyes” before he got his big break on “Law & Order: SVU.” As the recurring character Trevor Langan, a defense attorney, he appeared in 33 episodes total, per Hollywood Life.
Hermann has also acted in films, among them “United 93,” “Trouble with the Curve” and “All Is Bright.” And interestingly, the actor has also published a children’s book, “If the S in Moose Comes Loose,” about a moose who’s having trouble being himself until his cow friend helps him restore all the letters to his name.
Hermann married Hargitay in 2004 at a Unitarian church in Santa Barbara, California. The two of them have three children together, August, Amaya and Andrew.
