“Blue Bloods” is a CBS drama staple that’s been on since 2010. Actress Bridget Moynahan offers her thoughts on the show’s success.

“Part of the success of this show is that every single year, the writers are writing better stories,” Moynahan said during a 2017 cast interview celebrating its 150th episode. “More complex, deeper, giving us more interesting stories to play. “

No doubt fans of “Blue Bloods” love flocking back to see what will happen within the Reagan family. They are led by Tom Selleck, who plays NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan. Moynahan has played Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan since the show premiered on CBS.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Finds Character Sometimes In Middle Of Family, Business

Before her current role, Moynahan appeared in other TV series like “Sex and the City,” “Going to California,” “Six Degrees” and “Eli Stone.”

Moynahan’s character finds herself at times in the crossfire between family and business. Past episodes have had Erin do “family favors” for Detective Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg. Her character, much like others on “Blue Bloods,” has grown and expanded from where it started at first.

Some people, though, may connect Moynahan with her three-year relationship with National Football League quarterback Tom Brady. They were together between 2004-06 before breaking up. She was pregnant, though, with Brady’s child. She gave birth to their son, John, on Aug. 22, 2007.

Moynahan Had Breakout Role As Bartender in Movie ‘Coyote Ugly’

Part of her career also includes time as a model. Moynahan, though, set her sights on becoming an actor. Her long and winding road ultimately led her to “Blue Bloods,” a series that’s coming back for a 12th season this fall.

When it comes to breakout roles, though, Moynahan can always look back at taking part in 2000’s “Coyote Ugly.” She played Rachel, a fiercely independent bartender. One thing Moynahan wishes she could change from that movie is the wardrobe.

“I feel a little bit bad about that film,” Moynahan said in 2014 to HuffPost, “Because I think we were responsible for just every woman wearing really low-slung pants that maybe don’t naturally fit well on people.

“So I think we started a movement that maybe we should reconsider,” she said.

Moynahan is a native of Binghamton, N.Y., and has lived as well in Los Angeles. She moved to New York so that she could be near where “Blue Bloods” was shot. A lot of the show’s street scenes are filmed in the New York City area.

It’s also a city where Moynahan had spent a lot of time during her modeling career. She’s not going anywhere thanks to the success of “Blue Bloods” and her love of the writers’ work.
