It’s going to be a long summer until fall. Meanwhile, eager “Blue Bloods” fans contemplate what surprises to expect in Season 12. For example, whether or not Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie (Vanessa Ray) will get a promotion in the new season.

Next season, we should expect it to be more centered on each of their professional careers. Jamie’s path could ultimately lead to him following in his father Frank (Tom Selleck) and grandfather Henry’s (Len Cariou) footsteps, read an article from TV Insider.

“For now, we’re just gonna play probably Jamie’s promotion,” executive producer Kevin Wade told TV Insider. “If they said this show’s going to run for six more years, I’m guessing that Jamie may well be in 1PP before it was over – not necessarily as commissioner, but he seems like the guy who’s on his way up on that side of things.”

There’s a good chance Eddie will be promoted to a detective next season. After acting in an episode last season where she went undercover, most agreed she fits the part very well.

“We played an episode late in the season where she went undercover with Anthony (Steven Schirripa) to try to nab a crooked parole officer,” Wade added. “Every time we’ve played her undercover, it brightens up the screen. It’s on the table that Eddie could become a detective.”

‘Blue Bloods’ Actors Jamie & Eddie Unlikely to Have Kids in Season 12

“Blue Bloods” is described as both a procedural crime drama and family-oriented. As far as Season 12 goes, fans are speculating if on-screen couple Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie (Vanessa Ray) add to their “Blue Bloods” line?

After they became partners in Season 4, it was obvious they were meant to be together. Later on, Season 8 revealed Jamie’s true feelings for Eddie following her near-death experience. Then, the two were married. Now, what’s next?

Although writers have talked about putting kids into the picture, they have yet to make solid plans. Executive producer Kevin Wade gives us the scoop on the possibility of the two “Blue Bloods” actors starting a family.

“We talk about it sometimes,” Wade told TV Insider. “I think that would be something that would come out of a combination of our fictional lives and their real lives.”

Even through the toughest of times, the pair still manage to balance work, life, and each other. However, both Jamie and Eddie have a long way to go before they can bring children into the mix.
