Bob Odenkirk Speaks Out on His Condition after Collapsing on ‘Better Call Saul’ Set

Following his recent health scare on the set of Better Call Saul, actor Bob Odenkirk spoke out on the incident once again on Twitter.

Early on Saturday morning, Odenkirk shared a humorous update after having a heart attack in late July. While many wouldn’t joke about such matters, they aren’t Bob Odenkirk. The former Saturday Night Live writer made light of what was surely a frightening ordeal as he filmed the sixth and final season of the hit Breaking Bad spinoff.

While the crew filmed Better Call Saul in Culver City, California, the actor collapsed on set. Crew members immediately called an ambulance that rushed the actor to a nearby hospital. Supposedly doctors held Bob Odenkirk overnight before releasing him, and surgery was not needed.

The actor shared another tweet today that compared his recent situation to that of the 1946 Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life. However, he amusingly made sure to add that he wants to “keep expectations reasonable!”

“I am doing great. I’ve had my very own ‘It’s a wonderful life’ week of people insisting I make the world slightly better. Wow! Thank you, I love everyone right now but let’s keep expectations reasonable!” Bob Odenkirk joked in a tweet.

Bob Odenkirk Breaks Silence After Collapsing on Set of ‘Better Call Saul’

On July 30, Bob Odenkirk opened up about the on-set incident for the first time in another Twitter post. Just a few days prior on Tuesday, July 27, the actor shared details and revealed that he had a “small heart attack.”

“Hi. It’s Bob. Thank you,” Odenkirk said to said to his almost 800,000 Twitter followers. “To my family and friends who have surrounded me this week. And for the outpouring of love from everyone who expressed concern and care for me. It’s overwhelming. But I feel the love and it means so much.”

Earlier the same day, Bob Odenkirk’s oft-creative partner and friend David Cross, shared an update with his fans. Cross revealed that everyone would hear from Odenkirk soon as he continued to recover. Sure enough, the actor chimed in later that day with his message explaining what happened while filming Better Call Saul.

“I had a small heart attack,” the actor continued in his tweet. “But I’m going to be ok thanks to Rosa Estrada and the doctors who knew how to fix the blockage without surgery.”

In addition, the beloved Breaking Bad actor thanked the show’s network and production company for their support.

“Also, AMC and SONYs support and help throughout this has been next-level,” Bob Odenkirk added. “I’m going to take a beat to recover but I’ll be back soon.”
