Kate Upton loves thoroughbred racing. She’s been to various big-name horse racing events and now she can say she’s a horserace owner, too.

Kate Upton especially loves the race ponies so much, that she actually purchased one before her virtual appearance at the Breeders Cup. According to PopCulture.com, the virtual celebrity ambassador bought a show horse. Photos can be seen of the 28-year old model riding the horse.

She’s also hoping to share her love of horses with her daughter, Vivi. She turns two-years-old today, and the new mom says they’ll be watching the Breeders’ Cup together.

Kate Upton’s History with Horses

As a matter of fact, Upton grew up riding horses. She told GQ in a 2012 interview that she started riding at a young age.

“I’m actually an equestrian, and I showed in the American Paint Horse Association and competed for top 20 in the nation,” she said. “So, I have my own horse and two ponies. I grew up around horses, and that really is my passion. It was a lot of fun to go back and compete.”

Kate Upton’s Virtual Breeders’ Cup Appearance

Kate Upton says that the host of this year’s Breeders’ Cup is her favorite horserace track, and she’ll miss being there in person today. However, Upton will be making a virtual appearance on the primetime broadcast of the event.

Additionally, fans aren’t being allowed at the event, so Upton’s been sharing various throwback photos on Instagram of her time at the track.

She Shares Her Love for the Race Track on Instagram

First up, this video’s from the time she met Triple Crown Champion, American Pharoah. “Can you believe this was 5 years ago, @jimmyfallon?!”

Also, she talks about how she and baseball star husband, Justin Verlander, were at the track in years past.

“So wish we could be there in person this year, but we’ll settle for some excitement from home!”

The biggest race of the Breeders’ Cup is the Longlines Classic. That race post time is at 5:18 p.m. Eastern time. Furthermore, Upton’s favorite horse in the race is Authentic, the horse that won the Kentucky Derby.
