Bruce Springsteen couldn’t be prouder of his Olympic daughter, Jessica after she and her team won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
Jessica Springsteen competed in her first Olympic Games this year for Team USA’s equestrian team. While she fell short in the single rider qualifying rounds, Jessica and her teammates snagged the silver medal for the Jumping Team Final.
Right after she was awarded the silver medal, The Daily Mail reports that Jessica immediately told Bruce Springsteen and her mom, Patti Scialfa, the good news.
“I FaceTimed them really quickly,” Jessica said after the medal ceremony. “They were all screaming and I don’t think we understood a word anyone was saying. I couldn’t make any of it out but I know they were all excited.”
Now, according to Asbury Park Press, Bruce Springsteen has publicly congratulated his daughter on her accomplishment. In the latest episode of his podcast, “From My Home To Yours,” the rock singer gave a shoutout to Jessica and her coach, Nick Skelton.
“I want to congratulate the United States Olympic show jumping team — that’s McLain Ward, Laura Kraut and my lovely daughter, Jessica Springsteen — on their silver medal win at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics,” Bruce Springsteen said at the end of the show.
He added, “A special shout-out to my great friend and one of the kings of show jumping, Nick Skelton, for his guidance and inspiration. May all of your days forever be glorious.”

Dad wasn’t the only one to congratulate Jessica Springsteen on her success. The equestrian’s mom, Patti Scialfa, also congratulated her daughter via Instagram.
“BRINGING HOME THE SILVER,” Bruce Springsteen’s wife captioned the post. “Congratulations to the USA 2020 Equestrian Jumping Team!! What a day…what a ride… #nickskelton – Thanks.. you’re a dream maker.”
Jessica herself took to Instagram to mark the event. She posted a slideshow of pictures from the Tokyo Olympics, almost all of them including her horse. Bruce Springsteen’s daughter thanked her horse, Don Juan van de Donkhoeve, along with her show groom, Josie Eliasson.
“Biggest thank you to Don for making my dreams come true! And @jossanelia for believing in us every step of the way,” Jessica captioned the post.
Even Bruce Springsteen’s bandmate, Stevie Van Zandt, joined in on congratulating Jessica.
“Congradulations [sic] Jesse Springsteen and Team USA! Silver Freakin Medal Baby! Amazing! A second and a half from Gold! And congradulations [sic] to Sweden. Fantastic riding all around. (and yes I spell it with a “d” the way it’s pronounced and how I first saw it on the Stones’ 12 x 5!),” Van Zandt tweeted.
