Bruce Willis racked up more than one controversy over the years. Now, his name often brings divisiveness with fans– kind of like all the new changes to “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!” lately. It’s like the fan reaction to the NFL’s dual anthem approach or their less-than-thrilling Ed Sheeran kick-off for the season. Okay, you get it. But what did the funny guy do this time? Well, according to past Director Kevin Smith, Willis was less than pleasant to work with and embodied “true darkness.” That’s right, he called out the star for essentially lacking a soul. Keep reading to find out what happened on set to inspire the star’s scathing review.
Bruce Willis Lacked Passion
Bruce Willis found himself on the set of the 2010 comedy “Cop Out” with Kevin Smith as the director. Since then, Smith insists that he has a bone or two to pick with the bald-headed action man. In his newest campaign against Willis, Smith reveals that he doesn’t think Willis even likes making movies. Actually, Smith wrote it all down in his recently published memoir.
The book carries quite the lengthy title: Kevin Smith’s Secret Stash: The Definitive Visual History. While a majority of the book avoids the internet beef, part of it addresses it in a very straight-forward way. Actually, an entire chapter is dedicated to their interactions together. Kevin Smith writes: “Cop Out could have been a great experience if it were not for the fact that I met true darkness in Bruce Willis.” He continues on. “I love making movies and [Bruce Willis] does not, at all.”
While neither Willis nor his team have cared to comment on this recent lambasting, Bruce’s most recent public comment on the matter came from Time Out. He said: “Poor Kevin. He’s just a whiner, you know? We had some personal issues about how we approached work.”
With the memoir circulating, I guess the ball is in Bruce Willis’ court now…
The Comedy Central Roast
This is not the first time celebrities have roasted the star. Actually, Bruce Willis voluntarily joined Comedy Central as they hosted a roast all about him a few years back. Joseph Gordon-Levitt leads the roast and things get a little raunchy with Nikki Glaser, Martha Stewart, and Edward Norton making appearances. Even his ex-wife Demi Moore stops by take a few shots at him. She compares their marriage to his movies, saying they were like the “Sixth Sense” because he was “dead the whole time.” She also brings up his “Die Hard” stint, saying she’s glad she left before the final two installments came out, because they were simply bad. The Roast is completely brutal, but all in good fun. Willis laughs right along with the star-studded audience.
