Despite rumors that have been continuing to circulate about Geneva Carr, who plays Marissa Morgan, departing from her hit series Bull, none of them seem to hold any weight.
According to Looper, the rumors about the Bull star’s potential departure may have to do with the plot development of Michael Weatherly’s character, Dr. Bull. The main character was arrested with charges of jury tampering. The situation seems to make fans think there will be some changes with the show’s team.
However, this doesn’t seem to be the case and Carr’s rumored departure is just that – a rumor. The media outlet noted that CBS has yet to announce any possible changes with Bull, included the departure of any characters.
Executive producer, Kathryn Price recently spoke to TV Line about Carr remaining a “key player” on Bull. Even though her character will be embarking on an empowerment journey. She is reevaluating her role at TAC.
Geneva Carr Opens Up About Her Role on ‘Bull’
During a 2016 interview with Parade, Geneva Carr spoke about her character’s relationship with Dr. Bull. “Marissa knew Dr. Bull for about ten years. They were very good friends. There’s never been any romance. Marisa was the first person he called and said, ‘How can we make this work? What can we do?’ That’s when she created the matrix and the algorithm that’ll predict how people will vote.”
The Bull star further revealed more details about the offscreen relationship she has with Michael Weatherly. “I call him my guru now. I can’t call him my boss, I can’t even call him my colleague. He is always giving me advice.”
Carr then stated her Bull co-star gave her some pretty good sound advice. “I was nervous and scared that they were going to replace me. Or the director was not going to like me. Michael said, ‘I’m going to give you the best advice that I was ever given. Marissa Morgan is you. The more you let yourself be that person and don’t layer anything onto it, and don’t ask but find her in you, the more we will believe. Because the TV audiences see the truth.”
Weatherly also told Carr to let her Bull character be here. “Let yourself shine in her and she’ll become a real person.”
Carr described Weatherly as a genius to act with because she’s considered him the “most giving” actor. She also shared that he is so present. “Whatever you’re feeling, he’s going to respond to. He’s the ultimate professional.”
Carr goes on to add that Weatherly is the “most free-spirited” guy she knows. He also has a great sense of humor and she believes they balance each other. “There’s this working chemistry, and I think it’s because he’s heart and I’m head.”
