Candace Cameron Bure is hearing it from her fans and followers on social media after she revealed the identity of one of the undercover celebrities on Fox’s Masked Singer.
On her Instagram stories on Wednesday night, the Fuller House star started out by offering a clear spoiler alert. “Who watches the Masked Singer? If you do spoiler alert, fast forward. Spoiler alert,” she said.
The 44-year-old actress then continued by explaining that she almost instantly knew the identity of one of the show’s celebrities. “I knew who the squiggly-eyed monster was the second he sang the second note,” she said. “Literally, two notes, the second word, I was like, ‘I know that voice. I know that voice.'”
Candace Cameron Bure says she sent a text to her Masked Singer celebrity pal in the middle of the show. “It was so fun! I texted him in the middle of his song, I texted, and I was like, ‘It’s you! It’s you! You’re on the Masked Singer right now,'” she said. “I know your voice. I know your voice so well! I know his voice. I just loved it.”
While she instantly knew the singer’s identity, Bure says she kept it a secret for the last week. “I’ve been keeping this secret for a whole week,” she continued. “But unfortunately, he was eliminated tonight, which was undeserved. He was so good.”

As it turns out, her former Full House co-star and onscreen father, Bob Saget, was revealed to be the “squiggly-eyed monster.”
Despite her clear warnings, Bure later posted a story in which she detailed the heavy backlash on social media. However, she is chalking up the nasty behavior towards “election anxiety.”
“I’m going to blame it on the election, but people are just mean tonight,” she said. “People like, first of all, I’m sorry if I ruined it for you. But I wrote and said, spoiler alert, spoiler alert. Fast forward if you haven’t watched the Masked Singer.”
Bure also had previously shared the video that she sent to Saget after realizing that he was participating in the Masked Singer. The mother of three says she also received criticisms over her excitement at figuring out Saget was on the show.
“And people telling me that I need to get a life because I got so excited over it,” she said. “We’re just going to chalk that up to election anxiety or something. Be kind.”
