Candace Cameron Bure joked with the other “queens of Hallmark Christmas” that her kids refuse to watch her Hallmark Christmas movies. Bure virtually appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show to discuss her upcoming film projects with the channel.

She sat down with Holly Robinson Peete and Lacey Chabert, both of whom also appear in upcoming Christmas movies for the channel. Bure has filmed 9 Christmas movies with the channel and worked on 26 others for Hallmark. Though her kids won’t watch any of them, she joked.

“My kids are like, ‘I’m not going to watch another Hallmark movie. Let alone with you in it mom,'” she laughed.

Chabert said she’s done 10 Christmas films with Hallmark, and Peete has completed 8.

Hallmark Christmas Movies Dominate This Year

Clarkson called the three women the “queens of Hallmark Christmas,” and said she and her family love to settle in and watch the Hallmark Christmas movies.

The movies are incredibly popular. So much so, the channel is producing 23 new ones this year, Good Housekeeping said.

A Timeless Christmas, which aired on the channel last Sunday, drew in more than 3.4 million viewers, according to Vulture. That’s more than hit network shows such as Law & Order: SVU, Supermarket Sweep, and Superstore.

And with more people at home because of COVID-19, many are turning to familiar, comforting films. Hallmark is seeing a jump in viewers this year, Vulture reported.

The channel’s Countdown to Christmas started in October this year. Each movie consistently draws in millions of viewers. That makes Hallmark Channel one of the most-watched networks in primetime, Vulture said.

Netflix, HBO Max and Amazon Prime have each produced Christmas specials this year to tap into that market.

Bure stars in If I Only Had Christmas. Holly Robinson Peete will appear in Christmas in Evergreen: Bells are Ringing and The Christmas Doctor. Chabert stars in The Christmas Waltz and Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas.
