Cardi B has taken to Twitter to fire back at DeAnna Lorraine after Lorraine supported First Lady Melania Trump, while dissing the rapper in a tweet Tuesday.
Author and political correspondent, Lorraine, tweeted following Melania Trump’s speech Tuesday night of the 2020 RNC. Her tweet reads, “American needs far more women like Melania Trump and far less like Cardi B.” This is assumed to be attacking the rapper in light of her recent song “WAP.” The song has hit headlines for its graphic, sexual lyrics. Cardi B quickly replied to Lorraine alluding to her acronymic song title, presumptively referencing the first lady’s nude modeling career.
Later, DeAnna Lorraine doubled down on her argument, posting another tweet about the rapper in the early hours of Wednesday, August 26.
Cardi B replied a second time to Lorraine’s original tweet with a nude modeling image of young Melania. The rapper quotes explicit “WAP” lyrics in the post to emphasize her feelings.
This Twitter feud comes at the same time that Cardi B’s song “WAP”, which she references in her tweet, hits headlines for its explicit content. The rapper has been firm in her defense of the song. She spoke with Australian Kyle and Jackie O Podcast in an attempt to clear the air. “The people that the song bothers are usually conservatives or really religious, fake religious people,” she told the hosts. She went on saying, “it’s for adults.”
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s song has sparked a “WAP dance challenge.” The now-viral Tik Tok dance involves numerous splits and crawling. The Daily Mail reports that the dance has given some participants serious bruising and injuries. Cardi took to Instagram warning Tik Tok users to “Please guys be safe while doing the WAP WAP WAP.”
