Carole Baskin Unleashed on Netflix’s ‘Tiger King 2,’ Denounces Series After New Trailer Drops

Just days after Netflix announced Tiger King 2 is officially happening, Carole Baskin is sharing why she’s absolutely against the crime documentary’s upcoming sequel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carole Baskin spoke out about Tiger King 2, saying she doesn’t understand how Netflix put out a follow-up while Joe Exotic is still in jail. She then stated, “I’m refusing to be played again.”

Carole Baskin revealed the director of Tiger King, Rebecca Chaiklin, previously said that she wants to “clear the air” about what they did to Baskin in the original Netflix series. “I told her to lose my number,” Baskin said. “There is no explanation for such a betrayal and false portrayal.”

The new Tiger King 2 trailer shows Carole Baskin walking down a hallway. It also shows a billboard that is asking for information about who murdered Baskin’s ex-husband, Don Lewis. Lewis notably went missing in 1997. He was declared legally dead in 2002.

Carole Baskin is considered a major figure in Tiger King. But she decided to distance herself from the documentary altogether. She also described the documentary as being inaccurate. She now supports the documentary The Conversation Game. Which investigates the exotic animal trade.

Despite Carole Baskin’s disdain against the documentary, Tiger King 2 will premiere on November 17th.

Carole Baskin Talks About Being Her Fake Interview With YouTubers

In May 2020, Carole Baskin opened up to Us Weekly about being tricked into thinking she was being interviewed by late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon. It was actually YouTubers Josh Pieters and Archie Manners.

Carole Baskin told the media outlet that she actually didn’t have any hard feelings about the YouTubers posing as Fallon. “I was suspicious as we were doing it because the questions appeared taped,” Baskin stated. She also admitted she had no idea it would turn out to be a fun prank.

“It gives us a very welcome good laugh,” Baskin continued. “I appreciate their cleverness. They create their video in a way that I don’t feel is in any way mean.”

Baskin Spoke Out About the Death Threats & Criticism She Recieved After ‘Tiger King’ Originally Released

Also at the time, Carole Baskin slammed the Tiger King creators. While chatting with the Tampa Bay Times in her actual first interview she says is so angry that people are missing the point while watching the documentary. She said that the documentary’s viewers have actually trash or threaten her.

When sharing what she meant about people missing the point of the documentary, Baskin said, “And the point [of the documentary] is these cubs are being abused and exploited. The public is enabling that.”

Baskin’s husband, Howard Baskin said Tiger King actually “breezed” over the suffering of captive tigers. “There’s almost no way to describe the intensity of the feeling of betrayal,” he added.
