Carrie Ann Inaba is learning to take things day by day when it comes to her health. The co-host of The Talk explained as much in her post on Instagram.

There’s no question that the last couple of years have been tough for everyone — not just Carrie Ann Inaba. But the talk show host and moderator wants to make sure her followers know that she is there for them.

It can be hard to ask someone how they are genuinely feeling. And it can be even harder to start a conversation about someone’s mental health. That’s why Inaba is telling her fans to check in with her. She even decides to start the trend by letting everyone know how she has been feeling.

“Hi!!! This is a wellness check-in,” Inaba begins her post. “How are YOU doing today? How are you feeling? Let’s check in on each other. Here, I’ll go first…”

Carrie Ann Inaba Opens Up to Her Followers

We all have good days and bad days — even celebrities like Carrie Ann Inaba. However, yesterday was one of her bad days. The co-host of The Talk had to take a leave of absence from the show back in April because of multiple health issues.

“Yesterday I had a bad day. I was in bed after having to take out 35 viles of my blood,” Inaba explained. “I felt weak and it frustrated me because, after all the work I’ve been doing on my health and wellness, I felt like I had made no progress.”

The 53-year-old explained that what made her day even harder was that her mom was in town to visit. But she was weak, and her body needed to rest.

“My mom is here and I needed to stay in bed and that was also frustrating since I haven’t seen her in a while,” she continued. “My mood was bad, my energy low and so I took the time my body was longing for and I rested. And the end of the day couldn’t have come soon enough. Before I went to bed, I hugged my mom and told her let’s let today go and start a fresh tomorrow. And we hugged and I said ‘I love you’ and went to bed. “

And when Inaba woke up today, the sun was shining and she knew it was going to be a good day. It’s a great reminder to all of us to not only check in about our mental health but to take things one day at a time.

“And today was brand new. The sun was shining and I felt much better, I said my prayers and gratitudes and have been having a beautiful day. For which, I am very grateful. A general reminder that it takes darkness for us to appreciate the light. And all of it is okay. Now you go. How are you doing?”
