Carrie Ann Inaba is getting real about her thoughts on love in the face of fear.
Recently, “The Talk” co-host, who’s on a hiatus at the moment, took to Instagram to open up about a quote that she shared on her Instagram stories earlier on Wednesday.
In the story, she showed off a quote from Melissa Tumino: “The thing about being brave is it doesn’t come with the absence of fear and hurt. Bravery is the ability to look fear and hurt in the face and say, move aside, you are in the way.”
After posting the thought-provoking quote, she published a clip describing why the quote resonated so deeply within her.
“Courage is such an important part of my life,” the 53-year-old began. “People often say to people that are successful ‘you’re fearless’ and it’s like no, no, no there’s a lot of fear, and it takes a lot of courage to get out there and pursue your dreams wholeheartedly and get through the fear.”
If there’s one person who knows about bravery, it’s Carrie Ann Inaba. Months ago, she opened about her multiple autoimmune conditions, including Sjogren’s syndrome, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.
According to her blog, The Carrie Ann Conversations, Sjogren’s syndrome leaves her with a dry mouth and eyes. Moreso, lupus, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis “has the markers for” antiphospholipid syndrome, which can “lead to blood clots.”
The Most Important Type of Love According to Carrie Ann Inaba
Yet, the former “Dancing with the Stars” panelist remains resilient. Throughout her recent clip, she also referenced another time in her life when she looked fear in its face.
“I remember my boyfriend was going to go on tour with Michael Jackson,” the former professional dancer began.
She continued: “I was going to go on tour with Madonna, and we were going to be gone and separated for a long time. I was scared.” According to Inaba, the night before the opening show, she and a colleague went out to get tattoos. As a result, she ended up getting a tattoo that symbolizes courage and love because, for her, “of all kinds of love, I think that the most important kind is courageous love.”
Although she got her tattoo years ago, that idea still retains its significance. “Life is filled with ups and downs, and you never know what’s coming, she added. “Sometimes it’s scary, sometimes it hurts, and I think that love is so important.”
Now, it seems like love has remained a dominant theme in Inaba’s life. Inaba and her boyfriend, Fabien Viteri, are head over heels for one another, according to her social media.
Since the daytime TV co-host first announced her relationship last fall, her fans have witnessed the evolution of the couple’s romance via her Instagram. Now, we know that the couple loves to enjoy spending time with each other’s families.
Last Sunday, she gave fans a glimpse of that family bonding in a post. She smiled next to Viteri, his daughter, Sasha, and her boyfriend, Diego.
