Carrie Ann Inaba Stresses ‘Compassion’ in New Video Amid Reports ‘The Talk’ is Looking for Replacement

Amid reports that “The Talk” producers want to replace her with a man, co-host Carrie Ann Inaba took to Instagram to stress “compassion” for her absence.

The show has felt Inaba’s absence for months. She’s cited her 2014 diagnosis with Sjogren’s syndrome, an autoimmune disorder, and has often talked about her long-term struggle with it.

In a recent Instagram video, “The Talk” co-host opened up in what looked like to be her kitchen area. She read what she called an essential daily poem that ended, “we do not know what wars are going on down there where the spirit meets the bone.”

She said in the Thursday video that “we’re all going through stuff. None of us knows what the other is going through, so be gentle, be kind, and have a beautiful day.”

Inaba also urged her viewers to “remember if someone is angry or grumpy, it may be because they haven’t been heard or seen.”

So “The Talk” co-host ended with asking folks to see that person, possibly her, with compassion and love.

She captioned the video with, “this quote is what we need to start our day with… compassion. A gentle reminder to treat each other with kindness…”

However, PageSix reports that “The Talk” wants to replace the “Dancing With The Stars” judge, and a male co-host may be an option.

Osbourne “The Talk” Incident Did Not Help Inaba

When Inaba, 53, took her medical leave in April, she missed out on the Sharon Osbourne race flap. Osbourne was ousted in March amid a dustup with co-host Sheryl Underwood and replaced by actor Jerry O’Connell last month.

PageSix reported that a show source said Inaba did not like being punished for things in her absence. The show brought in diversity and inclusion to help rebuild the environment. Also, the source said the show’s tone changed, and she didn’t like the attempt to “tackle more serious issues.”

Also, Inaba was upbeat and thankful over the renewal of “The Talk’s” Season 12 in June. She didn’t give much insight into returning or her health. However, Inaba shared more enthusiasm about the upcoming “Dancing With The Stars” shows.

Good Housekeeping reported that CBS and “The Talk” has not confirmed Inaba’s fall return to the show. In mid-July, she promised her fans that she would reveal more about her future on the show soon.

“As soon as I know what’s going on with “The Talk” I will let you know, I promise,” Inaba explained at the time.

‘The Talk’ Replacements?

The PageSix report mentioned that “The Talk” producers have been trying out comics and athletes to fill Inaba’s spot. The show has not revealed any of those candidates, however.

Inaba replaced Julie Chen in 2019, and her first show was on January 2, 2019.
