Carrie Ann Inaba is making the most of her time away from “The Talk.” The co-host posted a picture to Instagram of a lunch she shared with a big group of her family and friends from Hawaii.
Throughout her hiatus from co-hosting duties on the hit CBS talk show “The Talk,” Inaba has found time to touch base with her family. Last week, she posted a photo from her nephew’s college graduation. Now, she’s spending time with her brother and her childhood friends.
“It’s always so great to see friends (ohana) from Hawaii. In the far back, that’s my brother and one of his best friends from childhood,” Inaba wrote in the caption. “We just ate Hawaiian food on the rooftop patio at my brothers new place, and we laughed and laughed as we caught up and talked story. And we realized that we Hawaiian folks love to laugh.”
Carrie Ann Inaba’s Leave of Absence from ‘The Talk’
Months ago, Carrie Ann Inaba decided to take a leave of absence from “The Talk” to work on herself and deal with some health issues. But now that the CBS talk show has been renewed for Season 12, fans are dying to know when, or if, Inaba plans on returning. In June, Inaba did a Q&A for her fans. Naturally, she was asked if she had a date in mind for when she’d return to the show.
“I don’t know the answer to that yet. I’m so grateful ‘The Talk’ has given me this time to take care of myself and be on this incredible healing journey. We are probably going to sit down and have some discussions about what the future is and when I go back, maybe the end of this month … I do miss everybody at ‘The Talk’ and I look forward to be able to do what I love to do when the time is right.”
That seems to be the most recent official word regarding her potential return. But Inaba has a whole lot going on in addition to the CBS talk show.
Inaba’s Return to ‘Dancing with the Stars’
Lest fans of “The Talk” forget, Carrie Ann Inaba has appeared as a judge on 450 episodes of “Dancing with the Stars.” She’s been a staple on the show since 2005. And though “The Talk” has the edge in the number of episodes featuring Inaba as a daily series (607!), the number of years she has invested in “DWTS” beats that by a mile.
And Tyra Banks, who just recently joined “Dancing with the Stars” as host, hoped Inaba would come back for the upcoming Season 30.
“She was there way before I was. So I’m gonna be begging her, ‘Please, baby, please! You gonna be there, right?'” Banks told Entertainment Tonight in July.
Inaba has not confirmed her return to the show officially. But she has posted about how much she’s looking forward to the new season.
