Like every parent, Halloween is a time to get in touch with your inner designer and make a homemade costume for your child. Hit country singer Carrie Underwood and former NHL star husband Mike Fisher are no exception.
Whether the stores are too limited or expensive, Halloween costumes become an issue for most families.
The couple’s five-year-old son, Isaiah, wants to be a character from a 1993 Tim Burton animated musical this year. So not exactly a costume that is just sitting on the shelves of your local Walmart or Target.
“I don’t know what we’re going to be for Halloween,” she admits. “We’ve done the pumpkin-carving thing and stuff like that, so we’ve got some decorations.”
Underwood continues, saying that her young son “wants to be Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
“I’m having some trouble finding that costume. It only exists for adults. Lord help us if I have to make Oogie Boogie. So, we’re going to see. Maybe I’ll get a potato sack-type situation, a burlap sack. Maybe I can make one out of that. I’m not sure. Wish me luck!”
For reference, this is what Oogie Boogie looks like.
Last year, the family went all out for Halloween. Carrie dressed as a Cheer Bear, Mike and one-year-old son Jacob dressed as Max and Buck Daniels, and Isaiah went as The Grinch.
In 2017, the couple went as a hunter and a deer.
It seems like Carrie might have a reoccurring theme of dressing in a simple onesie, and honestly, Carrie, there is no judgment.
