He has been acting for more than 40 years, and now Cheers star Kelsey Grammer is opening up about the advice he gave to his daughters, Greer and Spencer, about show business.

During a September 2021 interview with Fox News, Kelsey Grammer stated that he gave his daughters, who are also in show business, advice about how to approach life. “Once in a while, they’ve asked me a specific question about a character or something like that. And I try to just impart them what I think is the best way to go about working on a role.”

Kelsey Grammer describes his daughter Greer as being really independent in terms of her approach to things. “And she’s pretty self-contained. So she’s great. But also my daughter Spencer, same thing. They make a living as actors.”

While speaking about his eldest daughter Spencer working on a cartoon series, Kelsey Grammer shared, “It’s a puppet show on Nickelodeon called Barbarian and the Troll. And my 7-year-old son loves that. He loves her and can’t get enough of it.”

In regards to Greer’s next filming project, Kelsey Gammer stated he can’t really talk about it yet because it could be a breakthrough role for her. “And she says I can’t watch this last movie [Deadly Illusions]. I’m not supposed to see it. I guess she does some pretty naughty things. That’s all right. We’re all human. It’s ok.”

Kelsey Grammer’s Daughter Greer Reveals How Her Upbringing Prepared Her For High-Profile Acting Career

Kelsey Grammer’s daughter Greer also recently spoke to Fox News about how her upbringing with the Cheers star actually helped prepare her for a high-profile acting career. “I grew up going to sets my entire life. Not only because of my dad. But also because of my mom [Barrie Buckner]. She was a makeup artist.”

Despite the high-profile lifestyle, Kelsey Grammer’s daughter proclaimed she loved the spotlight and sets.  “That was where I felt the happiest, even as a kid. As I got older, I started in theater and that was really good for me as an actor to have the foundation.”

Greer then revealed what both her parents told her about acting. “They told me, ‘Don’t do acting because you want to be famous. Don’t do acting because you think it’s what you’re supposed to do.’”

In regards to having intimate scenes with her Deadly Illusions co-stars, Kristin Davis and Dermot Mulroney, Greer stated Kristin was amazing but the scenes were absolutely nerve-wracking for her. “She’s such a pro that any anxiety that I had about it was completely eased. And we just got to be actors and explore.”
